2 Top Bets for Kentucky vs Georgia on Jan 7
1. Kentucky ATS -2
There are few teams in the country that score as well as Kentucky. In fact, there’s only one better, as, per Kentucky vs Georgia stats, the Wildcats rank second at 90.2 points per game (just behind fellow SEC member Alabama at 91.1).
That offensive ability was on full display in the win over Florida over the weekend, as the Wildcats were able to outscore the Gators (fifth in the country in scoring at 88.3 per game), 106-100. Reserve guard Koby Brea had himself a game, playing 22 points off the bench and finishing with 23 points on 7-of-9 shooting from beyond the arc.

Brea is third on the Wildcats in scoring at 12.7 points per game and is one of six players for Kentucky averaging in double-digits this season. Guard Olega Oweh leads the way with 15.9 points per contest, with Lamont Butler adding 13.8 points and a team-best 4.4 assists a game.
If Georgia is going to be competitive in this one, freshman big man Asa Newell has to … well, come up big. Newell is pacing the Bulldogs in scoring and rebounding at 15.4 points and 6.9 boards per game. At 6-11, he’ll have a size advantage against the smaller Kentucky lineup.
Despite Newell’s presence, we like Kentucky to stay hot shooting the ball – the Wildcats are 33rd in the country with 10.1 3-pointers per game – and pull away late for the win and cover. Bet online on the visitors in this one.
2. Kentucky vs Georgia Over 155
If the Wildcats are going to live up to their place among the top betting favorites for the NCAAB national title, they need to find more defense. Kentucky currently holds the 10th-best odds to cut down the nets in San Antonio in April at +1800.
They may find it against Georgia, which has been up and down with its point totals all season. In its two losses – vs Marquette and Ole Miss – it has averaged 60.0 points per game. But the Bulldogs have also scored 90 or more five times this season.
A big key in this one will be taking care of the basketball, which is where senior guard Tyrin Lawrence comes in. Lawrence is averaging 10.5 points and a team-best 3.7 assists per contest, but he’s also prone to turnovers at times. He’s averaging just 1.9 on the season, but over the last five contests, he’s coughing it up 2.4 times a game, including two four-turnover showings.
Kentucky would love to get some easy baskets off turnovers, so Lawrence and the Bulldogs must be precise in their offensive execution. The Wildcats will give up some points if Georgia is playing well, so we like the over to hit in this one.
Make one of your college basketball predictions for this SEC showdown that the game will finish over the total.
