Two Struggling SEC Teams Collide

The LSU Tigers and Arkansas Razorbacks are jockeying for position at the bottom of the SEC standings with three conference wins between them. The Tigers are losers of six straight and hope to eke out another win over Arkansas while the Razorbacks are going for back-to-back wins after beating Ole Miss.

LSU Tied for Worst Record in SEC

The LSU Tigers are struggling to get anything done in conference play with a 1-6 record in the SEC. That ties them with Mississippi State and Ole Miss for the worst winning percentage (.143) in the conference.

Overall, the Tigers may have a winning record, but they’ve only found success against weak, non-conference foes. Arkansas may be weak, but the Razorbacks aren’t going to just lay down and take it from LSU.

Because of its struggles, LSU is also struggling to cover games with an ATS record of 6-13 and an return of investment of -30.81%. Loyal bettors have lost -6.10 units on the Tigers this season.

The major issue for LSU continues to be its 278th-ranked offense that really doesn’t do anything well. The Tigers shoot below 43% from the field, and have an abysmal 69.9% rate from the charity stripe. If this team can’t even make gimmes, I don’t see much hope for them on Tuesday.

Arkansas Not Doing Much Better

While the Tigers may be the worst team in the SEC, the truth is that Arkansas isn’t doing much better. At 2-5 in conference play, they have a slim lead over LSU, but that could all come crashing down tonight.

The Razorbacks do have something LSU doesn’t, however. A win this calendar year.

Arkansas defeated the Ole Miss Rebels 69-57 on Saturday. Despite sharing last place with LSU, it was a big win for the Razorbacks and they covered easily.

Speaking of covering games, the Razorbacks are not doing a great job in that department with an 8-10-1 ATS record this season. To make matters worse, they are 1-6 in conference games.

Arkansas has a superior offense than LSU on paper, ranking nearly 200 spots higher on the rankings. The defense isn’t too bad either, and both sides rank in the top 100 in scoring.

LSU vs Arkansas Picks and Prediction

This is a huge spread for two bad teams, but that just goes to show the gap between the two. LSU hasn’t won a game since December, and we don’t expect that to change tonight. We are so low on LSU that we don’t think the Tigers are capable of covering this spread, let alone upset Arkansas.
