Gonzaga is just 14-19 against the college basketball spread as a favorite this season. Some of that is a result of the previous dominance in WCC play and the gaudy lines that the Bulldogs need to deal with.

Georgia covered in just six of 14 games this season as the underdog. That trend could continue when it comes to the NCAAB expert picks.

I like Gonzaga to not only win when making March Madness picks, but also to cover.

Yes, I know that Georgia enters the NCAA tournament tied with Texas A&M for the fewest number of games landing over the sports betting odds total among SEC teams. Still, my eyes light up whenever a Gonzaga game has a total in the 150s. I’m not loving the odds to win the NCAA title for Gonzaga this year, but taking the tournament opener to go over is a better option.

Nearly 60% of Gonzaga’s games this season landed over when the Bulldogs were listed as the favorite, per NCAAB betting tips.

Now that Gonzaga is likely done with a pesky Saint Mary’s team, look for Gonzaga to run early and often in this NCAA basketball matchup.

I am not expecting those sort of numbers against Georgia. I do like the -122 odds for Ike to have at least 27 combined points, rebounds and assists when making college basketball player prop picks.

The Gonzaga roster is full of players with previous March Madness experience so don’t expect many opening-game jitters. That might not be the case for Georgia.
