With UConn’s loss to Florida, there will be a new champion crowned. The winners of the last eight national championships have either been sent home or failed to get into the field of 68.
Eight of the 10 teams with the shortest odds of winning March Madness advanced to the Sweet 16 with Arkansas the only double-digit seed to survive and advance so far.
Duke (+225) and Florida (+375) have the shortest odd to win March Madness with Auburn (+500) and Houston (+500) not far behind in the NCAAB championship odds.

Of course, realignment has resulted in power conferences being larger than ever before.
Four of the seven remaining SEC teams are favored in the regional semifinals. There could be all SEC regional finals in the Midwest, South and West regions.
According to the college basketball futures odds, Duke (-200) is the favorite to represent the East in the Final Four, Houston (-120) is favored in the Midwest, Auburn (-140) has the shortest odds in the South, Florida (-130) leads the way in the West.
An all-SEC matchup is on top in the Sweet 16 when Tennessee squares off with Kentucky. The Vols are -4,5 favorites despite losing both regular-season matchups, per Kentucky vs Tennessee stats.

2. Duke Still Tops Best March Madness Odds
Looking at the championship odds from the beginning of the season, UConn was tied with Duke at +900 in the March Madness title odds. When looking at the NCAAB expert picks, Duke is still looking good to cash in.

The Huskies gave it everything they had but fell short in the second round against a talented Florida team in one of the more compelling NCAA basketball games in this year’s tournament.
BYU (+7500), Ole Miss (+7500) and Maryland (+8000) had the longest championship odds in the college basketball betting line at the start of the season among the 16 remaining teams.

Duke (-9) is the heaviest favorite with Ole Miss (+3) the best of the underdog bets. The totals range from 132.5 for the Purdue-Houston clash to 175 when BYU meets up with Alabama.
Auburn and BYU lead the Sweet 16 teams with 21 games landing over the total, one more than Arizona, Purdue and Texas Tech. Michigan State has seen 24 games land under with Houston and Tennessee next up with 20 matchups going under the total, per NCAA betting trends.
Florida, which is 26-10 ATS, is -6.5 against Maryland in the next round and -130 to win the West. After escaping an upset bid by UConn, the Gators remain the college basketball prediction to win it all.
