The Auburn Tigers are beginning to find their top form again and face the Michigan Wolverines as a big favorite on the college basketball lines in the South Regional semifinals on Friday at Atlanta.

The Tigers trailed at halftime in the second round against Creighton before pulling away for an 82-70 win last weekend. No. 1 seed Auburn is +450 in the March Madness odds to be the last team standing in the NCAA Tournament and should find a way to win this matchup.

Michigan rallied to win its first two NCAA games after taking the Big Ten tournament. The Wolverines should put up a fight, but beating the rather large spread is probably their best chance in March Madness betting on Friday.

Michigan has the size inside to limit Auburn star Johni Broome a bit, so it will depend on the supporting cast and the Tigers have a bit more quality depth. However, the Wolverines can keep it close and are 5-0 ATS in the last five games – four of those as an underdog, per NCAA betting trends.

Auburn recorded 47 points in the second half to beat Creighton and we expect the Tigers to wear down the Wolverines in the final 20 minutes on Friday, but they are just 1-5 ATS in the last six contests – all as a favorite.

Nine points are a lot to give up to the Big Ten champion. Michigan is filled with experienced players and a coach who took a team to the Final Four (Dusty May, FAU). The Wolverines can top the first-half team total and beat the NCAA spread.

Vladislav Goldin (16.8 ppg) and Danny Wolf (13 ppg, 9.8 rpg) give Michigan size inside, point guard Tre Donaldson makes big shots and veteran Roddy Gayle Jr. scored 26 in the last round. The Wolverines will be many March Madness experts’ picks to pull the upset.
