Spartans Have Won Five in a Row
The Michigan Wolverines try to stay perfect in Big Ten play when they visit in-state rival Michigan State Spartans for a conference contest on Saturday. Michigan has won two in a row, including a home victory over Penn State on Wednesday, and is tied with Wisconsin atop the Big Ten standings. Michigan State is on a five-game winning streak and is in a three-way tie for fifth place in the conference. This is one of the better rivalries in college basketball, so this should be another good game. For help with betting online on this game, check out our in-depth preview.
Let’s check the latest college basketball odds, stats, injury reports, and college basketball lines for Michigan vs Michigan State. We’ve plenty of NCAA basketball odds for you to consider.

Michigan Leaning on Dickinson
The Michigan Wolverines have one of the top big men in college basketball in junior Hunter Dickinson, and they’ve been relying on the center to be a big presence in the paint. Dickinson has done just that, averaging team highs of 18.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
Dickinson had 28 points and 12 rebounds in a Sunday win over Maryland and is certainly looking forward to facing Michigan State. Dickinson averaged 29.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks in two games against the Spartans in 2021-22.
There is a little more spice to the rivalry, especially with Dickinson after he was recently on a podcast that compared Michigan State coach Tom Izzo to Adolf Hitler. Dickinson came out this week disassociating himself with the comments, but the Spartans will certainly remember.
Freshman guard Jett Howard gets his first on-court taste of the rivalry, though as the son of coach Juwan Howard, he certainly knows about it. Howard is averaging 14.6 points this season and is coming off 14 points and seven rebounds in the win over Penn State.
Michigan State Showing Balance
The Michigan State Spartans are usually a balanced offense, and this season is no exception. Senior guard Tyson Walker is the team’s leading scorer with 13.9 points per game, but four different players have led the team in scoring in games this season, and the Spartans are in the top 25 nationally in assists per game.
Still, in true Izzo fashion, the Hall of Fame coach isn’t satisfied with his team despite a five-game winning streak.
“I don’t know yet. I mean, I’m not confident in this team yet,” Izzo said after Tuesday’s win over Nebraska. “I mean, we had one good game. We played decent these last couple games, but the competition hasn’t been the same as it was during that 11 games in 30 days (to start the season) or nine of the games.”
Walker had 21 points in the win over Nebraska, while forward Joey Hauser notched a double-double for the second straight game with 14 points and 12 rebounds while also dishing out six assists. Hauser is a deadly outside shooter and is second on the team in scoring at 13.8 points per game while grabbing a team-high 7.6 rebounds per contest.
