Both Teams Slumping After Hot Starts
The Missouri Tigers started the season with nine straight wins but have since fallen to 14-5. They’ve lost three out of their last four games, including an 85-64 defeat at No. 2 Alabama on the weekend.
Meanwhile, the Rebels started off just as hot. They won their first six games but have since fallen all the way down to 9-10.
This is a tough game to handicap in the sportsbook. Which of these two sides is the best option versus the college basketball odds?
Let’s check the latest college basketball news, stats, injury reports and college basketball lines for Missouri vs Ole Miss. We’ve got plenty of NCAA basketball picks for you to consider.
Missouri Still Way Off the Mark
The Missouri Tigers started the season well when they were playing cupcakes, but they have stumbled since moving into SEC play. It’s one thing to pummel Southern Indiana and Lindenwood; it’s another to beat Alabama and Arkansas.
What’s concerning recently is that their losses aren’t even that close. They hung with Alabama for a half but eventually fell by 21. They also lost by nine to Florida and 18 to Texas A&M. They aren’t even close.
It all starts with Kobe Brown, who leads the team in points and rebounds per contest. He’s averaging 15.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists.
He has help from D’Moi Hodge with his 14.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists. Not to mention that Hodge is 10th in the country in steals per game with 2.5.
Even so, this is the 65th-ranked offense, according to KenPom.com’s Adjusted Offensive Efficiency, which simply isn’t good enough.
Wheels Falling Off for Ole Miss
Ole Miss won six straight to start the season but they are just 3-10 since. The wheels have fallen off the wagon and it doesn’t look like the Rebels are getting them back on anytime soon.
Even so, they’re favored in this spot, according to the odds if you bet online. They do have some talent but it clearly doesn’t measure up against the rest of the conference.
Myles Burns is doing it all on the floor, averaging 6.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 2.2 steals. Matthew Murrell is averaging a team-high 14.9 points, leading the team in scoring in eight of their 19 games.
Still, the Rebels are 87th in the KenPom Adjusted Offensive Efficiency. They’ll do their best to make this a defensive struggle, which is where they thrive. They are 6-1 when holding opponents to 62 or less.

Ole Miss tends to play decent defensively – especially at home – so an under might be a good choice here too.
