NCAA Odds Today: Arizona Rolls Over Washington State

The top offense in the Pac-12, if not the nation, will face one of the best defenses in the conference when No. 8 Arizona (12-3, 3-1) travels to play Washington State (11-5, 2-3) on Saturday. That can help make NCAA basketball spreads interesting.

In the Wildcats’ last game, despite a close first half and sloppy play, they managed to pull away from Utah, showing off that devastating offense and winning 92-73. The Cougars also pulled off a big win in their last game, upsetting USC 72-64 on the road.

Pick Against the Spread- Arizona -8½ (-110)

It seems pretty clear that whatever happens, Arizona will put up points. The Wildcats have only been held under 80 points twice all season, and both happened within the first six games. Part of that could be because of a new roster and season, but it should have little effect on college basketball odds now, with Arizona in full swing.

While Caleb Love is leading the team in points per game, at 17.7, he is one of five players in double figures. Another is Keshad Johnson, who had 20 points in the last win over Utah. On top of that, Love had 23 points, 15 in the second half.

The Wildcats will put up their points, proving that against Utah, having struggled in the first half and committing 17 turnovers but still scoring 92 points.

If Washington State is going to cover the college basketball spread the offense will need to keep up, which seems unlikely. The Cougars average 74.8 points per game, but the Wildcats defense is no slouch, allowing 71.8.

Over/Under Pick- Over 153½ (-110)

College basketball lines have caught on to Arizona’s high-scoring offense because it has hit the over eight times in 15 games. Still, it is hard not to keep the over in the back of your mind when the Wildcats play, knowing how much they can score.

Facing a defense like Washington State could make things a little uncertain, but the over is still a solid betting option. Arizona will put up points, no matter what. It will be up to Washington State to keep up and hit the over.

The Cougars do have an offense that might be able to do that. They have two players, Isaac Jones and Myles Rice, who average over 14 points per game. In the win over USC, Jones had a massive game off the bench, with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Rice struggled with 12 points, but Jaylen Wells came up big with 17.
