Top 3 College Basketball Bets Today

1. Rutgers ML (-145) vs Penn State

There was plenty of hype surrounding the arrival of freshmen Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey. Harper has looked like the best freshman in the country at times as he is putting up 23.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game. The scoring numbers jump to 24.1 at home.

Bailey missed two games but he is still averaging 17.9 points and 6 rebounds per game.

The issue is that there isn’t much else on this Rutgers squad as the Scarlet Knights have dropped their last three games to fall to 5-4. Two of those losses came to ranked Alabama and Texas A&M teams while Ohio State made a brief appearance in the top 25 poll this season.

Penn State is coming off a home win against then-No. 8 Purdue with Ace Baldwin Jr. leading the way with 17 points. However, this is Penn State’s first road game of the season. That is enough to go with Rutgers at -145 to win when making NCAAB expert picks.

2. Troy-Houston Over 132.5

Houston got back to its winning ways after dropping two of its three games in the Players Era Festival. Both of those losses came in overtime.

Houston shot 54% from the field and 50% on 3-pointers in a convincing home win against Butler as part of the Big 12-Big East Battle behind L.J. Cryer’s 20 points.

The Cougars held Butler to 28% shooting and look to do the same to a Troy team that has lost to Arkansas, Oregon and Merrimack. The Trojans averaged 55 points in the two games against Power-4 conference teams. If Troy hits that mark, Houston would need to approach 80 points for the game to land over the 132.5-point total set by BetUS Sportsbook. That certainly seems more than likely.

3. Cornell vs California Under 166

Golden Bears allowed 98 points to Missouri and 89 to Stanford in its first two games in December so there are reasons to be concerned about the defense for the Bears.

BJ Omot, one of four double-digit scorers for the Bears, has missed the last five games. The Bears are facing a Cornell team that scored 77 points against La Salle, 76 versus Robert Morris and 72 in a loss to Syracuse.

The total is set at a 166 college basketball betting line, so take the game to finish under that total even if four of Cornell’s top six scorers shoot better than 40% from 3-point range.
