Seton Hall might have gotten the short end of the stick in the Big East-Big 12 Battle matchup, having to face the undefeated No.6 Baylor. NCAA basketball predictions favor Baylor, which should have a clear advantage in this matchup.
In the Pirates’ last game, they got a bounce-back win over Northeastern, winning 88-75 after two straight losses against tough competition. For the Bears, they remained undefeated, completely dominating Northwestern State 91-40.
Seton Hall: First True Road Game
So far, Seton Hall’s season has been nothing special. It has won every game in which it was favored in college basketball spreads and lost the ones in which it wasn’t, leading to a 5-2 record.
The Pirates’ last win against Northeastern was significant because they had just faced their first real challenges in USC and Iowa, losing both games. Beating Northeastern reminded the Pirates that they are still a capable team before going on the road for the first time this season to face Baylor.
Against USC and Iowa, Seton Hall struggled on both ends of the court. The Pirates lost 71-63 to USC and fell to Iowa 85-72. In both losses, the opposing team’s guards had a field day, which is something to keep track of for college basketball picks with Seton Hall facing a Baylor team featuring very good offensive guards.
However, in the win over Northeastern, Al-Amir Dawes came alive with 25 points and is averaging 13.6 this season. On top of that, Kadary Richmond, Seton Hall’s leading soccer at 14.7 points per game, put up 21. That could boost the Pirates’ confidence ahead of a tough matchup.
Baylor’s Offense Remains Special
While Baylor has not had the easiest schedule, like opening the season against Auburn or beating Oregon State and Florida in the Novavax NIT Season Tip-Off, it still has not faced a ranked opponent. That has helped the Bears remain undefeated.
That leads to college basketball odds having some concern about Baylor and what it can be going forward. The Bears have arguably one of the best offenses in the nation, averaging the fourth-most points per game (92.8). They have scored at least 88 points in every game but one.
Ja’Kobe Walter’s candidacy as a top prospect has been bolstered by standout games against Auburn and Oregon State, combining for 52 points on 26 shots, showing dynamic shot-making running off screens, deep range on his pull-up, and compact, consistent mechanics. pic.twitter.com/Ob8PjPJR7U

A massive reason for that is the talent on the roster, especially freshman Ja’Kobe Walter, who leads the team at 14.9 points per game. However, it is a team effort for Baylor to put up these scoring numbers, with five players averaging double-digit points.
The proof of the Bears’ offensive success is in the stats, but also over the previous two games. They beat Nicholls 108-70, with four players in double figures. Four players were once again in double figures in the win over Northwestern State. The biggest test in college basketball lines is yet to come for Baylor, with the defense being the primary object of concern.

Baylor should be able to outmatch Seton Hall and win at home. The biggest question is, will the Pirates’ offense, in their first road game of the season, be able to keep it close to make it an option within NCAA picks for today?
It looks like the Bears offense is coming into this matchup hot, ready to prove that they are prepared for the tougher matchups with Michigan State and Duke on the horizon. Baylor should win big and cover the spread.
