Ole Miss 82, North Carolina 78

North Carolina is playing its best basketball of the season right now, but it is hard to overlook the 1-8 record against ranked teams, per NCAAB betting trends. We’ll find out if the Tar Heels were simply feasting on weaker ACC teams or if they are a threat in the March Madness bracket.

Ole Miss is 3-9 against ranked teams. The best win in March for the Rebels was the 78-76 win over Tennessee. They also have wins over Kentucky and Alabama. That could factor into the March Madness lines.

RJ Davis was brilliant in the win over San Diego State and Elliot Cadeau handed out 12 assists, but nine total field goals from the UNC starters not named RJ Davis is a concern.

Five of North Carolina’s losses against ranked teams were by double digits and that is hard to overlook.

Ole Miss has allowed at least 80 points on seven occasions since the start of February, so this probably won’t be a defensive masterpiece. Keep that in mind when making March Madness predictions.

It is tempting to look at Seth Trimble’s options since the Wisconsin native should be fired up playing in his home state.

While we like his scoring prop options, the college basketball player prop bet that caught my eye is for Ole Miss guard Jaylen Murray to have at least 17 combined points, rebounds, and assists. That carries -109 odds. With Murray averaging 13.0 points and 3.7 assists over his last three games, that could be a way to proceed.
