The Oklahoma Rivalry Continues
The Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma State Cowboys are in need of consistency as their longstanding rivalry continues on Wednesday.
Oklahoma won the most recent meeting but it was all the Cowboys before that. However, the Sooners have been the better team with an 11-6 record.
NCAAB odds always have it close and this time is no different.
Let’s check the latest college basketball odds, stats, injury reports and college basketball lines for Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State. We’ve plenty of NCAA basketball odds for you to consider.
Sooners Finding Groove
The Big 12 has seen close games with the likes of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State losing to Kansas by narrow margins.
Following their 79-75 loss to the Jayhawks, the Sooners rebounded with a 77-76 win over West Virginia as the -3½ favorites. They failed to cover the spread, but it was a much-needed win.
The biggest winning or losing margin from their last five games was five points, which came via a 68-63 overtime win against Texas Tech.
Grant Sherfield had 22 points in the win over the Mountaineers, so if he produces the goods again, the Sooners could score the win. It would be consecutive wins against the Cowboys after winning 66-62 in overtime last season.
As the sportsbook suggests, it won’t take much for the Sooners to keep their winning form alive against their rival.
Cowboys Out of Sorts
The Cowboys always fire up for this game, but they’ll need to turn their form around after three concerning losses.
They lost 56-46 to Texas, 65-57 to Kansas State, and 74-58 to Baylor, with the latter being the most worrisome. Scoring 58 points isn’t going to be enough, even against Oklahoma, so something needs to change for the Cowboys.
They are better at home with a 6-2 record, but they are 8-9 against the spread after failing to cover the number in their last three games.
Things looked better when beating West Virginia 67-60 and losing to Kansas, 69-67, but they need to get back to that form in front of a home crowd.
“The process can’t change,” coach Mike Boynton said. “Whatever went into today happening, we’ve gotta own it. I have to take personal accountability as the head coach myself, but each player also has to look in the mirror to figure out what more or what better they can do for the group.
“At the end of the day, that’s what it’s going to take.”
We wouldn’t be surprised to see betting online money come for the Cowboys. They are tough to beat at home and the crowd at Gallagher-Iba Arena is always rocking.
