No. 11 Horned Frogs Await Sooners

Oklahoma Looking to Make a Statement

The TCU Horned Frogs picked up one of the biggest regular seasons wins in program history on Saturday as they not only beat No. 2 Kansas 83-60, but handed coach Bill Self one of his worst home (and overall) losses in his 20 years with the program.

This is a program that had started 13-1 but had stumbled recently. Those who bet online know that TCU is feeling confident once again.

Meanwhile, the Oklahoma Sooners were once 7-2 but have since slipped to 11-8 on the season. They have lost two straight games and three out of their last four. Can they stun TCU here or will the Horned Frogs cash for your college basketball picks?

Let’s check the latest college basketball news, stats, injury reports and college basketball lines for Oklahoma vs TCU. We’ve got plenty of NCAA basketball picks for you to consider.

Sooners Remain Competitive

The Sooners continue to fight even if the losses are piling up. They’ve dropped five of seven but four of the last five losses to Big 12 teams were by a combined 10 points.

One player that might be a difference-maker moving forward is Otega Oweh. The freshman barely stepped foot onto the court at all in the first six games of the season. However, he got 11 minutes in their loss to Baylor and racked up six points and five steals.

Besides Oweh getting more playing time, Oklahoma definitely needs consistency from its best scorer. Grant Sherfield averages 17 points but he’s been inconsistent lately.

He has scored 23 points in the past two games combined, but not a single one of them was scored in the second half. The scoring has to come more often and more consistently down the stretch.

TCU Phenomenal at Kansas

It’s not easy going up against a No. 2-ranked team, but the Horned Frogs made quick work of Kansas on Saturday. Their bench was incredible, combining for 39 points and nine assists. As a team, they turned it over only one time during the entire game.

Shahada Wells, in particular, played great basketball, getting 17 points to help them come out on top.

TCU head coach Jamie Dixon has mentioned in the past that getting the bench going early on is his top priority. In the past few losses for this group, Dixon has mentioned that he wants to get their bench players in the game quicker.

That’s what makes the breakout performances of Wells and Rondel Walker against Kansas that much more important. They will be key to another big TCU victory this week.

Oklahoma vs TCU Picks and Prediction

It’s a mid-size number here that TCU is being asked to cover in the sportsbook, and while it seems reasonable, Oklahoma is the play here.

TCU is coming off its best win of the season with multiple breakout performances along the way. However, this could be a letdown spot.

Oklahoma is not great on the road (dropped three of four) but the Sooners remain competitive. Three of their last four road losses were by four or less. This will be another one.

TCU is listed at -240 in our Vegas NCAAB lines. This means that if you wager $100 on the Horned Frogs, you have a chance to win $42. Oklahoma is +200, offering a chance to win $200 on a $100 wager.

The implied probability attached to the betting lines gives the Sooners a 33.33% chance to win, with the Horned Frogs at 70.59%.
