My Analysis

St. John’s moneyline NCAA basketball betting lines are not appealing, so let’s look at the spread. They won all three Big East tournament games by double-figures, including tournament teams in Marquette and Creighton. Should this trend continue, they will have no problem taking down the Mavericks by 20. The Red Storm have the ninth-best odds for March Madness at +2200.

St. John’s struggles in certain aspects offensively, mainly from three. But they pass the ball well and find high-percentage looks. The Johnnies rely on defense, defending the perimeter and rebounding well. Omaha shoots the ball well but struggles defensively. I think the Red Storm will clamp down on the Mavericks’ offense. Combining that with their own less than stellar scoring, the score staying under 148 points is part of my March Madness predictions.

Overshadowed by Big East player of the Year RJ Luis and Kadary Richmond, big man Zuby Ejiofor has been on fire. He’s scored 20 or more in back-to-back games, including 33 against Marquette. His rebounding abilities could provide many second-chance opportunities. I am choosing 18 over 16 points to get better value when making my March Madness expert picks.
