Big Ten Rivals Collide
Wolverines Try to Stay Perfect in Conference Play
The Penn State Nittany Lions go for a sixth straight win when they take on the host Michigan Wolverines in a key Big Ten matchup on Wednesday night. Penn State hasn’t lost since a conference setback to Michigan State on Dec. 7 and is part of a four-way tie for fourth place in the conference standings.
Michigan snapped a two-game losing streak with a win over Maryland on Sunday and is tied with Ohio State for second in the league, a half-game behind Wisconsin. Both teams are trying to stay near the top of the Big Ten, so check out our in-depth preview of this game to help you with your betting online.

Let’s check the latest NCAA basketball odds, stats, and injury reports for Penn State vs Michigan.
Penn State Deadly From Perimeter
The Penn State Nittany Lions don’t have a lot of height on their team, but they’re able to work around it on offense by bombing away from long range. Penn State is first in the Big Ten in both 3-pointers made per game (11.0) and 3-point shooting percentage (.388), which they’ll need to keep doing against Michigan.
Senior guard Jalen Pickett is leading the Nittany Lions in scoring (16.8 points), rebounds (7.4 per game) and assists (7.5 per contest) and is the only player in the country averaging at least 16 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Pickett had 26 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the Nittany Lions’ four-point win over Iowa on Sunday.
Senior guard Seth Lundy is contributing 13.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest. He’s connecting on 40.3% from 3-point range, hitting on 2.1 3-pointers per game.
Andrew Funk leads the Big Ten in both 3-pointers per game (3.1) and 3-point shooting percentage (.436), scoring 12.4 points per contest. The senior guard has been hot of late, averaging 15.6 points over the last five games.
Michigan Bounces Back With Big Win
The Michigan Wolverines headed into Sunday’s game with Maryland with a bitter taste in their mouths, as they were coming off a shocking home loss to Central Michigan on Thursday. Michigan dominated the Terrapins, however, responding with an 81-46 victory that has the team brimming with confidence heading into Wednesday’s contest.
“We’ve talked a lot lately about just respecting the game,” Michigan assistant coach Saddi Washington said heading into Wednesday’s contest. “The way that we approach our preparation, the way we approach with our effort and intensity and mindset going into every game has to be at an elite level. This game, and this conference certainly, can be unforgiving if you just show up and try to go through the motions.”
Center Hunter Dickinson had a big game against Maryland, finishing with 32 points and 12 rebounds after scoring a total of 22 points over the previous two contests. Dickinson leads the Wolverines with 18.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game and is shooting 57.1% from the floor.
Guard Jett Howard – son of head coach Juwan Howard – is chipping in with 14.6 points per game. The freshman had only six points against Maryland but contributed six rebounds and five assists to the winning effort.
