The Clemson Tigers go after their ninth straight victory as a moderate favorite in the college basketball odds when they take on the SMU Mustangs in the ACC quarterfinals on Thursday.

The 10th-ranked Tigers are the only team in the ACC to beat No. 1 Duke and have won their last seven games since then by at least nine points. Clemson is 20-11 ATS after covering a 17-point spread against Virginia Tech on Saturday.

SMU improved to 4-4 in its last eight after a 73-53 victory over struggling Syracuse in the second round on Wednesday, but the Mustangs lost to Clemson 79-69 at home on Feb. 22.

Six SMU players were averaging in double figures scoring before the tournament, led by Boopie Miller. We expect the Mustangs to let it all hang out against Clemson, but won’t be among many expert NCAA basketball picks to stop the Tigers.
