Key Players Could Miss SEC Showdown
A surprising loss to Georgia did little to shake Auburn’s confidence as the Tigers have won five games in a row, with two coming at home. They are favored to extend that winning streak against visiting Texas A&M.
Depending on what happens when first-place Alabama plays host to Mississippi State, as well as the Georgia-Tennessee matchup, the winner of this game could move into first place in the SEC standings.
Forward Solomon Washington is working his way through concussion protocol and is doubtful while guard Manny Obaseki is out, so the Aggies could be without two of the 10 players who average more than 10 minutes per game.
For Auburn, forward Chris Moore is questionable after missing the last three games with a shoulder injury.
Auburn joins Alabama as the only SEC team still undefeated at home while Texas A&M is 3-2 in true road games.
Auburn moved up one spot to No. 15 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll and also jumped up one position to 16th in the coaches poll.

Looking to Rebound
Texas A&M was flying under the radar despite a seven-game winning streak. That could have ended with a win over Kentucky on Saturday.
The Aggies shot the ball well inside the 3-point line, connecting on 21 of 33 shots. However, they failed to keep the more aggressive Wildcats off the boards. Kentucky had 17 offensive rebounds compared to just four for the Aggies.
With Kentucky having 18 additional field goal attempts, it didn’t matter that the Wildcats barely shot over 40% as the extra possessions resulted in a nine-point Kentucky win.
Texas A&M overcame the fact that Florida had more offensive rebounds in the previous game and still came away with a two-point win. If the Aggies don’t do a better job in the defensive rebounding department, they figure to start falling down the SEC standings.
Texas A&M has covered against the Las Vegas odds in five of its last seven games as well as in six of its last eight games against Auburn.
Taking the Lead
Auburn’s five-game winning streak is the second-longest active run in the SEC.
There has been very little late-game drama in those games. Since Allen Flanigan’s jumper put the Tigers up for good with 16 minutes left to play in the first half in a win over Mississippi State, Auburn has not trailed.
The Tigers led from start to finish in wins over LSU and South Carolina and take a run of 96 minutes without trailing into the matchup with Texas A&M.
Auburn has been getting offensive contributions from multiple sources. Jaylin Williams led the way with a team-high 21 points against Mississippi State. Williams and Wendell Green Jr. each had 14 points against LSU and Johni Broome went off for a season-high 27 points versus South Carolina.
