South Alabama is on a four-game winning streak. The Jaguars defeated Georgia State 70-67 in their last game, by far South Alabama’s best win of the year.

When you are ready for some Troy vs South Alabama betting, remember that South Alabama is listed as a seven-point favorite. The NCAAB over/under has been set at 133 points.

Troy Trying to End Shooting Woes

Troy has struggled on offense. The Trojans have an effective field goal percentage of only .436, one of the worst in the nation.

They are shooting only 27.6% from 3-point range. On top of the shooting difficulties, Troy has one of the higher turnover percentages in all of college basketball.

Nick Stampley leads the team in scoring at 11.8 points per game. Stampley has scored in double digits in five straight games, including two double-doubles in that stretch.

Freshman Kam Woods has missed two of the last three games, and his status for this one is unknown. Woods is Troy’s second-leading scorer at 11.6 points per game.

The other Trojans player averaging in double figures is Zay Williams at 11.5 per game. Williams leads the team in rebounds (8.6) and blocks (1.1).

Troy is ranked 288th by Kenpom. The offense is ranked 324th in efficiency, while the defense ranks 196th.

South Alabama Peaking

The Jaguars were sitting at 2-5 in Sun Belt Conference play and looked like they were headed for a last-place finish with two of the better teams in the conference on the schedule. Since, South Alabama has won four straight, including a sweep against Coastal Carolina.

South Alabama is one of the better shooting teams in the conference, with an effective field goal percentage of .522. The Jaguars love to shoot 3-pointers, as they are in the top 50 in both shots attempted and percentage of points from behind the arc.

South Alabama has been making college basketball news thanks to one of the most prolific scorers in the country in Michael Flowers. Flowers leads the team in scoring (22.0 points) and assists (3.5), doing most of his damage from 3-point range, shooting 41.4%.

Tyreke Locure (14.8) and David Walker (10.8) are both averaging in double figures for the Jaguars. Locure leads the team in steals at 2.4 per game and has a top 50 steal rate in all of college basketball.

Kenpom has South Alabama ranked 207th. The offense is 136th in efficiency, and the defense ranks 286th.

Don’t look for Troy to get many free throw attempts, as South Alabama is one of the best in the nation at keeping its opponents off the free-throw line.

Both these teams are playing better of late, but the Woods injury could be a big factor for Troy. South Alabama is just a much better team at this point in the season.

The Jaguars struggle on defense, but the Trojans just aren’t talented enough to take advantage. Look for a big game for Flowers as Troy struggles to defend the 3-point line. This should be a blowout victory for the Jaguars regardless of Woods’ injury status.

When doing your college basketball betting, give the seven points and take South Alabama.
