Jayhawks Got Hot in Opener
Bill Self and his Jayhawks got off to a slow start, down 9-0 early to Eastern Washington in their first-round contest. Things continued as they trailed by eight at halftime.
The second half was all Kansas, as it outscored its opponent 55-38 and won by nine. The win was the 109th tournament win for the Jayhawks.
Kansas is seeking its 16th trip to the Final Four and also a fourth national title in school history. Kansas was noted as one of the top teams in all of college basketball before losing the postseason to COVID-19 a season ago.
The 2020-21 Jayhawks are led in scoring by Ochai Agbaji with 14.4 points per game. Agbaji scored 21 points in the win over Eastern Washington and has scored 66 over his last three games.
David McCormack was great in his return from the COVID-19 pause, as he came in and scored 22 points.
Jayhawks, Trojans in a Thriller
This should be a great game. The second round matches up teams that are competitive. Schools from power conferences that are kind of going underlooked are in this one.
No one is giving the Trojans and Jayhawks a chance to get to the Final Four. One will be in the Sweet 16.
