The luster of the Gator Bowl shines a bit less bright in 2022 with so many stars opting out on both the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and South Carolina Gamecocks.
Players expected to miss the game include both the Irish’s starting quarterback for most of the season and the Gamecocks’ best running back.
Because of this, finding props took a lot of work. But I managed to scrape together two worthy props to supplement your Gator Bowl betting cards.
- Double Result Prop
- Race to 10 Points
Let’s check the latest college football odds, stats, injury reports and college football lines for South Carolina vs Notre Dame. We’ve plenty of NCAA football odds for you to consider.
Double Result Prop
As stated already in my full betting breakdown of the Gator Bowl, I like the Gamecocks to win outright as +135 underdogs.
To accomplish this, South Carolina will need Spencer Rattler and Co. to step up early in the game and start stacking points in the first half. Despite missing starting running back Marshawn Lloyd, we believe South Carolina is going to ball on Friday with Rattler under center.
He beat the top-eight teams in back-to-back weeks with 438 yards against Tennessee and 360 yards against Clemson. The Irish’s defense is nowhere near as good as either of those teams, and Rattler may shred them to ribbons.
- Pick: South Carolina/South Carolina (+210)
Race to 10 Points
As stated above, South Carolina is on the wrong end of the odds here and should outright win this game as underdogs.
Regarding the race to 10, I think they have it in the bag with the way Rattler has been playing.
In the final game of the season, against then-No. 5 Tennessee, Rattler threw for two touchdowns in the first quarter and beat the Volunteers to the 10-point mark.
Notre Dame isn’t bad, but the Irish are missing two key defensive players and do not have nearly as good of a defense as Tennessee.
Overall, South Carolina is a top-50 team in regards to first-quarter scoring and is a good bet to jump out to an early lead in the Gator Bowl.
- Pick: Race to 10 Points – South Carolina (-110)
