Chip Kelly’s No. 18 UCLA Bruins hit the field on Friday to take on the Pittsburgh Panthers in the 2022 Sun Bowl.
The Bruins may be 9-3, but they had a chance to earn a spot in the College Football Playoffs before late-season losses to division rivals. Pitt, meanwhile, had a down season after losing Kenny Pickett but still managed to finish strong with four straight wins.
With such a great matchup on tap, I wanted to search for a few of the best prop bets for the Sun Bowl.
Let’s check the latest college football odds, stats, injury reports and college football lines for Pittsburgh vs UCLA. We’ve plenty of NCAA football odds for you to consider.

A Team to Score 3 Unanswered Times
This prop has been good to us so far during bowl season so let’s try again with the Sun Bowl. In this particular game, we feel there is a good chance for one team to score three times in a row, and here’s why.
We took the Over in our full betting breakdown of the Sun Bowl, which was 54 at the time. That’s decently high for a bowl game and suggests a lot of scoring is going to happen.
Both offenses are good, but UCLA has a better chance to cash this prop for us as they are nearly at full strength. In contrast, on defense, the Panthers will play without All-American Calijah Kancey and their best tackler SirVocea Dennis.
- Pick: Yes -235
Game Total Points Range
While I think this game will go over the 54-point total, I don’t expect it to soar too much higher. I don’t think 54 is enough for this matchup, but it is close.
The problem with the total is that the odds are -110 and don’t present a ton of betting value. The Game total points range prop does, in contrast, provide a lot of value.
The odds for the game to fall within the 51-60 point range are great at +260.
For what it’s worth, the last two Panthers’ games fell within this range.
- Pick: 51-60 (+260)
