3 ACC Teams to Bet Over Season Win Projections
The ACC will not look drastically different this season, but adding three new teams will result in a shift. From the now-dissolved Pac-12, California and Stanford are joining the ACC, while SMU is moving up into the Power Four. The ACC now consists of 17 teams, which must be considered when looking at college football lines‘ win totals.
None of these three new teams should be competing for the ACC championship immediately, especially not California and Stanford, who struggled in the Pac-12. However, SMU is an interesting team that should at least be competent in its first season in the ACC.

Top 3 Picks to Surpass Win Totals
1. Clemson Tigers (9.5 Wins)
Clemson has been one of the most dominant teams in the ACC since 2011. Head coach Dabo Swinney led the Tigers to 12 straight seasons with at least 10 wins. Well, until last season, when Clemson finished with a 9-4 record, still winning a bowl game.
Cade Klubnik👀👀

Last year was a down season for Swinney and the Tigers, and they will try and rectify that in 2024. They are favored to get back on top of the ACC and win the conference this season, with odds set at +260.
Cade Klubnik will again be the starting quarterback after a lackluster 2023 season, throwing 2,844 yards, 19 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. However, in his second season, with all the talent on Clemson, Klubnik should look better this season. Plus, he started to improve in the second half of the schedule.
Clemson’s somewhat difficult schedule is a question. The Tigers start the season against Georgia and then face Florida State on the road. Both games could be losses, but the other two tough opponents for the Tigers will be Louisville and South Carolina at home. Being at home should help the Tigers win both, getting them over this win-total line.
2. Syracuse Orange (6.5 Wins)
It might be surprising to see Syracuse as an over, but it is a program that seems to be on an upward trajectory. Last season, the Orange finished with a 6-7 record despite only two wins in conference play. They made a bowl game, but South Florida dominated them 45-0.
Kyle McCord🎯🎯

The biggest reason Syracuse could hit the over this season is the addition of Kyle McCord. After just one year as the starting quarterback for Ohio State, McCord transferred to Syracuse. Last season, he threw for 3,170 yards, 24 touchdowns, and six interceptions.
McCord won’t have the same elite talent around him at Syracuse as he did at Ohio State. However, his one season as a starter showed enough promise that McCord is going to be able to make it work with the Orange.
In addition, Syracuse has a very lenient schedule, especially when it comes to ACC opponents. Of the five teams with odds less than +1000 to win the ACC, the Orange play only two of them: NC State and Miami. Neither of those teams have been dominant in the conference in recent years. Syracuse has to win the games it is supposed to and be competitive with the others, which should lead to it hitting the over.
3. SMU Mustangs (7.5 Wins)
SMU is one of the new additions to the ACC, joining from the American Athletic Conference. The Mustangs won their conference last season by beating every AAC school they faced. They were a step above the talent around them, leading to them joining the ACC.

However, last season, SMU only suffered three losses, all against the current Power Four teams – Oklahoma, TCU and Boston College, which is in the ACC. The Mustangs fell to Boston College in their bowl game last season, which is a concern, losing to an opponent they will face this season.
What might make SMU a possible option for college football picks to hit the over is its schedule. Like Syracuse, the Mustangs avoided many of the top teams in the conference. Their toughest two games will be against Florida State and Louisville. In all of the other games this season, SMU should at least have a fighting chance, if not be favored.
