Bill Belichick Returns, Now Coaching College Football at UNC
Belichick Is Returning to Work, This Time as the Head Coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels in the NCAA
Belichick Is Heading to Chapel Hill!
The wait is over. The word all over NCAAF rumors sites has come true: Bill Belichick, widely considered the best head coach in NFL history, is taking his talents to the University of North Carolina after signing a five-year contract with the school at Chapel Hill, pending imminent approval from the school’s Board of Trustees and Board of Governors.

Being the architect of what’s widely considered by football betting odds fans as the greatest dynasty in the NFL, Belichick, a six-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots alongside Tom Brady and two-time SB champion as a part of Bill Parcell’s coaching staff in the New York Giants, Belichick is now expected to help the Tar Heels start a new football culture after the termination of former coach Mack Brown’s contract earlier this season.

So what’s in store for Belichick and the Tar Heels, a team the coach has known since childhood, given that his father, Steve Belichick, held the post of running backs coach from 1953 to 1955?
What Does Belichick’s Arrival at UNC Mean for College Football?
Considering Belichick’s football coaching tenure has always been at a pro level, moving to lead a college program, of course, raises doubts about what awaits Belichick, UNC, and NCAA football in general.
As NCAAF news experts and analysts started discussing Belichick’s return to coaching at Chapel Hill, the question of how his old-school, no-nonsense, my-word-is-sacred coaching style became one of the focal points.
It’s no secret that Belichick does not sugarcoat his words or football ideologies. In part, it’s what made the Patriots the Super Bowl-winning machine it was. Then again, though, there’s a world of difference between pro and collegiate players.
But everybody knows that, including Bill, right?
can’t wait to watch Bill Belichick interact with the 18 yr olds on the sideline 😂😂
remember his reaction to the rookie that handed him the ball after recovering a muffed punt 💀💀pic.twitter.com/DSbFYz0GSX

Considering various starters from North Carolina’s team this season have decided to enter the transfer portal, like offensive line studs Howard Sampson, Aidan Banfield, and Austin Blaske, and linebacker Amare Campbell on defense, will they flip their decision now that Belichick is calling the shots in the team’s college football games or will they still leave?
College ball is substantially different from life in the pros. Belichick will have not only to be the head coach but also one of the team’s leading spokespersons, fundraisers, and main pushers to give UNC sports fans, who are usually basketball-centered, a reason to show his new-look team some love.
Does This Mean Bill’s NFL Career Is Officially Over?
Ok, so here’s where the football cookie crumbles. In a way, if we read into the narrative, there’s a reason why Belichick didn’t get a new coaching gig in the NFL after his departure from New England, besides being a part of ‘Inside the NFL’, of course. Considering how the league is shifting and changing, especially regarding player-coach relationships, Bill’s modus operandi was becoming as stale as ever.
But that’s old news now. Let NFL teams in dire need of a coaching change find their ways now. Belichick’s move to college football could end up being much more beneficial for every party involved than having him stay in the pros.
“IF I was in a College program it would be a pipeline to the NFL for the players that had the ability to play in the NFL..
It would be a professional program at the College level..
I don’t have any doubt that the players would be ready for the NFL” ~ Bill Belichick #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/JyMDtzs2yR

Yes, going through the motions of recruiting, convincing prospects to stray away from better programs to join his, and finding a way to make believers out of doubters in college, especially for NCAAF picks and predictions followers will be a feat amongst feats.
But if Belichick keeps his word and manages to make UNC’s program a potential NFL player-making machine, this could end up being much better for Bill than staying in the pros and seeing his already immaculate legacy take more hits.
I like Bill Belichick as a college HC. Run North Carolina similar to a NFL business and NFL feeder.

The man is a Hall of Famer—one of the best to ever do it. He has nothing to prove to anybody, not even his 24-year-old girlfriend, so let him get to work and show if his move to Chapel Hill was right.
