The Ohio State Buckeyes should be a threat for another national championship next season and will start as the slight favorite in the NCAAF future odds.

You will have to spend quite a bit to make money on the Buckeyes (+450) or the Texas Longhorns (+500) with Arch Manning at quarterback, Georgia (+550) and Oregon (+700). You might as well look down the list at this time of year and take a chance.
Penn State (+1000), Alabama (+1400) and Notre Dame (+1600) always deserve consideration. However, we think you should look even deeper to make your early bets at the BetUS sportsbook.
CFP Championship Odds Betting Tips 2025-26
1. Pressure Off Ohio State in 2025-26?
Now that Ohio State and coach Ryan Day have their national championship, the pressure might be off for, well … a year.
The Buckeyes will still have some solid talent left from their championship run, led by superstar receiver Jeremiah Smith. Ohio State will always do well in the transfer portal to fill needs and it did already when West Virginia running back C.J. Donaldson Jr. recently made a commitment, per NCAAF football news.
Donaldson ran for 734 yards and 11 scores last season. The top tight end in the portal, Max Klare from Purdue, has also decided to come to Columbus. Klare had 51 catches for 685 yards and four TDs for a poor team.
Much will depend on the new quarterback, but the Buckeyes are confident Julian Sayin can step up. Sayin threw 12 passes last season, including one for a touchdown.
When Julian Sayin was considering a transfer from Alabama, HC Kalen DeBoer was late for the meeting and “acted like he didn’t know who (Sayin) was”, per a report from Rivals.

Expect Ohio State to be in the CFP again and be a solid sports bet to win.
2. Bet LSU, South Carolina Make Leaps
Two teams to watch next season from the SEC are the LSU Tigers and South Carolina Gamecocks.
LSU, which is +2000 in the odds to win the NCAAF national championship next season, was slightly disappointing in 2024-25. However, veteran quarterback Garrett Nussmeier is back and he should have a solid group of weapons to work with.
The Tigers have been rated one of the winners in the portal early on, but it won’t be easy in the SEC with Texas, Georgia, Alabama and upstart teams like South Carolina.
The Gamecocks matched LSU at 9-4 last season and have an elite quarterback with LaNorris Sellers (3,208 yards total offense in 12 games). South Carolina boasts solid talent coming back and are well worth a chance at bloated +4000 NCAAF betting lines.
LaNorris Sellers will win the Heisman Trophy in 2025. My article below. Thoughts?🏈👇https://t.co/cJO5LD5FHE

Both have the tools to be a factor in the race for a CFP spot.
3. Can Miami Improve On Defense?
The Miami Hurricanes were kept out of the CFP because of one thing last season: They couldn’t stop anyone on defense.
The Hurricanes gave up at least 30 points six times and 42 each in their last two, per NCAAF betting trends. They have to be better this coming season while the offense could be almost as potent with the addition of quarterback Carson Beck from Georgia in the transfer portal.
Miami should have two of its top running backs in the fold and Beck has some weapons to use. You would expect the Hurricanes to address the defense and be better. That’s why they are not a bad online bet at +2500 odds to win it all.
4. Want Some Real Longshots? Belichick and Prime Time
There are at least four teams you can make a small bet on to win the championship and go home with some big bills..
Bill Belichick takes over at North Carolina and who knows what the future Hall of Famer can do? The Tar Heels will certainly be a team to watch at +10000.
How about Deion Sanders and Colorado in his third season. His son, Shedeur Sanders, is headed to the NFL, along with Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, but Deion will have plenty of talent. Five-star recruit Julian Lewis most likely takes over for Sanders at quarterback.

Colorado is +10000, along with Florida State. The Seminoles could make a big leap after a very disappointing season if they get off to a good start. At those, odds, why not include them in NCAAF picks?
