Traps Galore Await on Road

Wake Forest Facing Huge Matchup at Boston College

Coming up with trap games when many teams are playing their biggest rivals isn’t the easiest assignment, but we have focused on one game that could help decide things in the congested Mountain Division of the Mountain West Conference as well as one game with huge ACC Championship Game ramifications.

Those who bet online might want to check out some games on Week 13 of the college football season that could prove to be more challenging than expected for some teams eyeing division titles.

Wake Forest Demon Deacons at Boston College Eagles

Odds: Wake Forest -5

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons have had such an impressive season and are so close to clinching a spot in the program’s first Atlantic Coast Conference Championship Game since 2006.

The only thing standing in the way of a matchup with Pittsburgh with the ACC title on the line for Wake Forest (9-2, 6-1 in the ACC) is a 6-5 Boston College team that has lost five of its last seven games.

Wake Forest’s high-octane offense will be playing a Boston College team that leads the ACC in passing defense at only 167.8 yards per game while allowing only 11 touchdown passes. North Carolina State and Clemson will be pulling for the Eagles since they need a Wake Forest loss to have any hope of being the ACC’s Atlantic Division champion.

The Demon Deacons rank in the top three in every major offensive category in the ACC so the question is whether Boston College can score enough to stay in this game.

Clemson, Louisville and North Carolina State all had better college football odds before the season to emerge out of the Atlantic Division than Wake Forest so it would be quite the achievement if the Demon Deacons pull this off.

Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners at North Texas Mean Green

Odds: Texas-San Antonio -10

What a season it has been for Texas-San Antonio which joins Ohio State and Cincinnati as the only undefeated teams at the FBS level.

Are the Roadrunners (11-0, 7-0 in Conference USA) feeling the pressure that comes with an undefeated record? UTSA only defeated Southern Mississippi by 10 points and topped UAB by just three points, as the Roadrunners failed to cover in both games against the scores and odds.

The Roadrunners have put up better offensive numbers on the road than at home and are playing a North Texas (5-6, 4-3) team that has lost three of its five home games so it would be a bit of a shocker to see UTSA’s perfect season come to an end this weekend.

UNLV Rebels at Air Force Falcons

Odds: Air Force -18

Yes, another Mountain West Mountain Division front-runner is on upset alert as Air Force (8-3, 5-2) is tied for the division lead and is playing a two-win UNLV (2-9, 2-5) squad.

The defense has been the calling card for the Falcons as they lead the conference by allowing only 295.5 yards per game. UNLV has had some issues on defense especially when playing on the road, so this certainly looks like a game Air Force should win.

Air Force had a season-high eight sacks in the last game and will look to apply more pressure on the UNLV Rebels.

Georgia Southern Eagles at Appalachian State Mountaineers

Odds: Appalachian State -24½

Appalachian State has already secured a date with Louisiana-Lafayette in the Sun Belt Championship Game so could there be a lack of focus with Georgia Southern, the last-place team in the Sun Belt’s East Division, coming to town?

The Mountaineers (9-2, 6-1 in the Sun Belt) are undefeated at home. They average almost 100 more yards of offense playing at home than on the road. A loss to the Eagles (3-8, 2-5) would not be the ideal way for Appalachian State to head into the conference championship game.

The Appalachian State defense has been among the best in the Sun Belt all season and the Mountaineers are facing a team that has struggled to move the ball consistently for much of the season.
