If you are searching for a unique college football bet to begin the 2024 season, take a good long look at the Ole Miss Rebels.

Coach Lane Kiffin added a major haul from the NCAA transfer portal and Ole Miss might just be the team to break through and beat the usual favorites.
Kiffin brought in four of the top 50 transfers and added plenty of depth with 24 players in all to give the Rebels a chance to be special. Assuming No. 1 quarterback Jaxson Dart stays healthy, Ole Miss should be a lock to go over 9½ wins.
The better value lies with the Rebels’ much loftier goals. Ole Miss is +700 to win the SEC and its most difficult game is at home against Georgia. The Rebels are +1500 in our college football odds to win it all and they are expected to gain a spot in the first 12-team national tournament.
Ole Miss was just 6-7 for over bettors last season, but you can expect the Rebels to pay off more with the talent they possess. They were 8-4-1 ATS in 2023 at the sportsbook.
3 Ways to Bet on Mississippi for the 2024 Season
1. Schedule Should Get Rebels 10 Wins-Plus
Let’s be honest. Nothing is easy in the SEC.
However, compared to other schedules for the new 16-team conference, the eight league games and four others seem quite manageable for the Rebels.
Ole Miss only plays three of the other top 10 teams in the preseason media poll – Georgia, LSU, and Oklahoma. Just one of those games is on the road (LSU). Meanwhile, the Rebels play three of the teams ranked in the bottom four – South Carolina, Mississippi State and Arkansas.
Much will depend on how dominant the offense can be with Ulysses Bentley IV taking over for Quinshon Judkins at running back. Bentley averaged 5.7 yards per carry last season as an understudy to Judkins, who has since transferred to Ohio State.
Ole Miss RB Ulysses Bentley will likely be RB1.

You never know what will happen with injuries, but Ole Miss should have the depth to get 10 at least wins if you bet online.

2. Take Chance With SEC Title Bet On Rebels
Ole Miss will have to either sweep the SEC schedule or go 7-1 and get lucky to have a chance at the league championship game in Atlanta.
That means some strong defense at “Death Valley” against LSU and at home when Georgia and Oklahoma visit. Kiffin had an All Star-worthy defensive lineman in Jared Ivey but added Princely Umanmielen (Florida) and Walter Nolen (Texas A&M) in the portal. The two combined for 11 sacks in 2023.
“He’s got elite twitch inside,” Ole Miss defensive coordinator Pete Golding told reporters of Nolen. “He’s very heavy-handed, especially at his size. To me, he gives you base-down flexibility to move.”
The Rebels gave up a lot of points in their toughest games last season, including 52 versus Georgia. That has to change if they are to earn your betting online. Still, if they can get to the big game, anything can happen.
Put some money on the Rebels to win the SEC. You will get paid.

3. Receiver Room Makes Dart Bullseye For Heisman?
The Heisman Trophy appears to be up for grabs this season. Quarterbacks Carson Beck (Georgia) and Dillon Gabriel (Oregon) have the lowest college football future odds to win it.
The rest of the group is +1000 or more currently, including Dart (+1200), who threw for 3,364 yards and 23 TDs in 2023. The Utah native threw five interceptions in 2023 and was sacked 27 times.
What makes us think Dart is worth a bet to win the grand award? He has a plethora of options to turn to and should have a little more time to throw with improvement on the offensive line.
Bentley is expected to step in for Judkins while Jordan Watkins and Tre Harris combined for 107 catches and 11 TD strikes last season. In addition, Antwane “Juice” Wells joins the squad from South Carolina. Wells had over 1,200 receiving yards and 15 TDs with James Madison in 2021.
Juice Wells had 928 yards/6 TDs for South Carolina in 2022. He only played in three games last year due to a foot injury, but Ole Miss HC Lane Kiffin says he’s rehabbing well.
Wells was very impressive yesterday.

If Datt plays more like he did in the Peach Bowl win over Penn State (379 yards, three TDs) than he did against Georgia (112 yards, 0 TDs, one Interception), he could be worth a small bet.
