Colorado 2024 Win Total: Bet Improved Buffaloes to Go Bowling
- Improvements on the offensive and defensive lines could get Colorado over the hump and into a bowl game this season.
- The Buffaloes allowed 56 sacks in 2023, which was 129th-most out of 130 FBS teams.
- Bet the over/under NCAA Football odds at the BetUS Sportsbook for the amount of wins in college football.
Colorado was the darling of college football through its first three games last season, but Buffaloes backers did not cash many bets online after that.

Opponents began exposing Colorado’s weaknesses and the Buffs dropped eight of their last nine contests. The offensive line couldn’t keep star quarterback Shedeur Sanders on his feet and the defense couldn’t stop anyone at key times.
The one thing about the collapse that is a positive sign? Colorado lost five of those games by one score. The Buffaloes were close, despite all their deficiencies.
Coach Deion “Prime Time” Sanders worked in the offseason to try and begin filling the biggest holes in the lineup and the hope is that they can find at least two more wins after the move to the Big 12.
It won’t be easy, but with two of the best players in the country – Sanders and Travis Hunter – Colorado is a good college football prediction to top the 5½-win total. The Buffs are ready for the spotlight.
Deion Sanders doesn’t like to talk about culture with a program but he did talk about the process at Colorado and the expectations he has for the Buffs at Big 12 Media Days.

Betting Tips For Colorado Football in 2024
1. What Makes Colorado a Good Bet?
The biggest three reasons you should make more moneyline bets on the Buffaloes this season are Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter and, well, Prime Time.
Sanders is one of the best quarterbacks in the country, after throwing for 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns. Despite getting sacked 52 times, he only threw three interceptions. His dad Deion worked all through the offseason to help him out in 2024.
Hunter had 721 yards receiving and five TDs while making three interceptions as a cornerback. He is a value bet in the college football futures to win the Heisman Trophy at +5000.

The Buffaloes are +2600 to win the Big 12 – 11th out of 16 teams – but Prime Time’s personality and a load of promising transfers could help. The receiver room is especially good with Hunter, Jimmy Horn Jr. and Vanderbilt transfer Will Sheppard, among others.
Colorado will score points. The over should still be a good bet at the BetUS sportsbook, even if the defense can slow teams down a bit.
2. Why to Be Wary of a Futures Bet on Colorado
When you bring in as many new players at key positions, it takes time. Colorado doesn’t have four exhibition games to get things in order on the offensive and defensive lines.
That’s probably the biggest concern for Coach Prime, because the first five games may determine whether this will be another rebuilding year or end with a bowl game. Three are on the road against Nebraska, Colorado State and Central Florida.
Colorado was last in the nation in rushing yards per game and gave up the second-most sacks (56) overall. Former Oklahoma and Minnesota Vikings tackle Phil Loadholt has taken over the offensive line and will most likely have at least four new starters with potential.
Five-star recruit Jordan Seaton and Jackson State transfer Tyler Brown, who could not get a waiver to play last year, join other newcomers. Transfer running backs Isaiah Augustave (Arkansas) and Dallan Hayden (Ohio State) could also help.
Colorado Football offensive lineman Tyler Brown on Shedeur Sanders taking 52 sacks last season:
“It had made me so sad too when Shedeur was like: ‘Man, I would just game prep & know that I’m just going to get the crap knocked out of me.’ ”

The defense has more than a dozen promising transfers, led by Samuel Okunlola (Pittsburgh) and BJ Green (Arizona State). But you must decide your NCAA Football betting strategy on how quickly Colorado can put the pieces together. It won’t be easy.
3. What Is The Prediction For Colorado?
Winning an over bet on Colorado this season may come down to three huge and winnable road games, along with how well the roster gels in the opening four weeks.
The Buffaloes start with a home test against capable FCS team North Dakota State before traveling to Nebraska and Colorado State. They host Baylor to open the Big 12 season.on Sept. 21. Three wins in the first four is crucial.
The first of the three key road tests is at the “Bounce House” in Orlando, Fla. versus UCF on Sept. 28. The other key road contests are at Arizona (Oct. 19) and at Texas Tech (Nov. 9). In between is a likely win at home versus rebuilding Cincinnati.
If you are going to win your over bet, the hope is that Colorado has at least six victories after the Texas Tech game. The Buffs complete the schedule with Utah, Kansas and Oklahoma State – all among the top four of many college football experts’ picks for the league.
Injuries and other issues can change everything. But we believe Colorado will get to six or seven wins.
