The Utah Utes are coming off a blowout of the Oregon Ducks, who were pursuing a College Football Playoff appearance. Oregon was never in the game.
The Utes might play Oregon in the Pac-12 Championship Game in a rematch, but they first have to deal with the Colorado Buffaloes on Friday afternoon.
Colorado is coming off an upset of Washington and will enter this game with confidence. Are they the right side for college football picks?

The Utes and Buffaloes are divisional rivals in the Pac-12 South. The last four meetings between these two teams have gone in favor of Utah.
Colorado has won two games against the Utes since they joined the Pac-12 in 2011. The only two games Utah has managed to lose were the inaugural game in 2011 and again in 2016.
The overall record is fairly balanced, with the all-time head-to-head series standing at 32-30-3 for Utah. Colorado is also 0-5 against the spread in its last five games against the Utes.
Next game: Pac-12 Championship Game (Dec. 3)
The Utes are entering this contest coming off a complete and thorough dismantling of the Oregon Ducks 38-7 in Salt Lake City.
The Ducks’ high-powered offense scored just seven points against the Ute defense. It was the fourth game in which the Utes’ defense allowed 20 points or fewer.
Utah and its opponents have scored an average of 53.3 points per game. That’s 0.8 points more than the O/U for Friday’s contest.
In the sportsbook, the Utes are 5-6 against the spread and 8-3 in over-unders this season.
The Utes have a clean injury report for this game.
Next game: Season over
The Buffaloes come into Friday off a victory over the struggling Washington Huskies. The Buffs managed a three-point victory over the Huskies, winning 20-17.
They were massively outgained, 426-183, but Washington committed four turnovers. Colorado’s defense stood tall and did all the heavy lifting.
It was a real change from most of the season for Colorado. Most of its games have been painful blowout losses for the Buffs. Six of their seven losses have been by more than 20 points.
Colorado has been better in recent weeks, not only knocking off Washington, but also ambushing Oregon State.
The past month has been a much-improved version of Colorado after September and early October were total disasters.
The Buffaloes are 5-5 against the spread if you bet online and 4-5-1 in terms of the NCAA odds for over-unders. One of the team’s 11 games was against an FCS opponent and did not have a listed betting line.
The Buffaloes have a clean injury report for this game.
Betting on the Game
This game is likely going to be an absolute thrashing by the Utes as they prepare to face the winner of the Pac-12 North, which could be Oregon, Washington State or even Oregon State.
Without taking any past matchups into account, the teams are having two vastly different seasons. The Utes are averaging about 36 points while Colorado is barely pushing 19 per game. If the Buffs can score more than 22.3 points, they’re 3-0 ATS and 3-1 overall when doing so.
This is their best shot at beating Utah, since the Buffs are fairly turnover-prone and Utah is quite adept at taking the ball away.
However you decide to bet, just do so knowing this game is likely not going to be within 20 points and the Utes should walk away with a rather comfortable victory.
The Utes will cover the large spread. The game will probably go over the number.
