Are You Ready for Some Football?!
Hunker down and make yourself comfortable because football fans all over America will be treated to a game or two, or even more than a dozen college and/or NFL games, each day for nearly two consecutive months. It’s that time of year when football widows, and even some widowers, will be extremely lonely as the late summer breeze gives way to the early autumn chill.
NFL news will dominate the headlines of the sports pages, but college football news will be sharing that space as well, as we get set to enjoy 55 glorious action-packed football days with no breaks in between.

Although football fans will get to catch their collective breath on Wednesday, November 27th, the following day will feature three Thanksgiving NFL games, including the Bears vs. Lions, the Giants vs. Cowboys, and the Dolphins taking on the Packers at historic Lambeau Field.
And those who want a taste of something besides pro football and turkey will be happy to know that the Memphis Tigers will travel to New Orleans to take on the Green Wave of Tulane on Thanksgiving night.

5 Games You Won’t Want to Miss
Georgia at Texas, Oct. 19th
Texas made the transition from the Big 12 to the explosive SEC, and now college football fans will get a glimpse of how they fare against one of the best programs in the land, the Georgia Bulldogs. The Longhorns come equipped with the most dynamic one-two punch at quarterback, with Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning pulling the trigger.
Alabama at Tennessee, October 19th
It would be a scheduling disaster should this second SEC gem be broadcast at the same time as the Georgia/Texas tilt, but we have faith in the networks who will not want to split their audience. Alabama boasts a 17-year-old wide receiver named Ryan Williams who has captured the nation’s attention with his acrobatic catches, while Tennessee has steamrolled the competition and recently defeated another new conference arrival in Oklahoma.
Lions at Vikings, October 20th
This 1:00 PM ET NFC North tilt is not to be missed, and the best part is that it is one of two marquee matchups on NFL Sunday, with the other kicking off at 4:25 (which we will discuss below). The upstart Vikings are the biggest surprise this season, with Sam Darnold at the helm of an explosive Minnesota offense while the Lions continue their ascension as one of the league’s powerhouses.
Chiefs at 49ers, October 20th
NFL fans will have an embarrassment of riches on this day as the stage is set for a rematch of last year’s Super Bowl in which the reigning champs from Kansas City travel to the Bay Area to take on the 49ers. A bevy of stars on both sides of the field will keep fans glued to their screens in this late afternoon showdown.
Ohio State at Penn State, November 2nd
No, this isn’t “The Game” between Ohio State and Michigan, which will be held on November 30th, but no one will complain about the Buckeyes visiting Beaver Stadium, home of the Penn State Nittany Lions. This Big 10 clash is about as big as it gets and could be a preview of the conference championship.
