Florida State CFP Odds Hinge on Matchups vs Clemson, Notre Dame
- Florida State returns as the ACC favorites with Clemson chasing the Seminoles.
- The Seminoles have four games that will determine their chances of making the College Football Playoff.
- Find out why several Florida State betting options should be intriguing for fans.
Florida State is once again the favorites to win the ACC in the NCAA football odds at +280. The good news for the Noles is the 12-team expanded College Football Playoff should mean Florida State will not be snubbed if the team earns a spot. The good news and the bad news for the Seminoles is the ACC does not appear to be a loaded conference. No one will confuse Florida State’s schedule with one of the stronger calendars.

This also means the Noles have little margin for error. Florida State may be able to make the tournament with one-loss but even that is no guarantee.
Here are the challenging matchups on Florida State’s schedule.
Top 4 Games for Florida State
1. Clemson-FSU Potential ACC Championship Preview
This could be a preview of a December rematch for the conference championship. Clemson will be the first major test for new Noles quarterback DJ Uiagalelei on Oct. 5. The newest Florida State QB1 would love nothing more than to stick it to his old team.
Former 5⭐️ DJ Uiagalelei is a BIG QB 👀💪

2. Florida State-Notre Dame Giving Us Historic Vibes
Notre Dame could play spoiler to Florida State’s title hope as the Seminoles take a trip to South Bend on Nov. 9. This one has me thinking about the classic 1990s matchups when Charlie Ward was at quarterback for the Noles.

This one should have College Football Playoff implications for both programs. The current college football betting odds have Florida State listed at +2500 to win the natty.
3. Rivalry Matchup vs Florida Ends Regular Season
Florida’s schedule may make this game a little irrelevant as I am not sure the Gators are going to be left standing in November. Regardless, this is still a rivalry matchup, and the Gators would like nothing more than to spoil the Seminoles’ season.
Wow.
The refs really called this a roughing the passer in the Florida-Florida State game 😬— Last Take™ (@TheRealLastTake) November 26, 2023
There was a time when this rivalry clash would play a major role in determining the national championship. Now, it’s rare for both Sunshine State squads to be good at the same time.

4. Florida State Faces Miami in Another In-State Rivalry Game
Any number of matchups could be listed at No. 4 for Florida State. Let’s keep the rivalry theme going as the Noles travel down the state to South Florida to face the Miami Hurricanes.
Like the rivalry with Florida, it has become increasingly rare for Miami and Florida State to both be ACC contenders. The Hurricanes have more to do with this, which is a story for a different day.
Former Clemson and Oregon State starting quarterback DJ Uiagalelei is in a waiting game, evaluating the NFL while seeing if he can be a Seminole.
If Cam Ward chooses Florida State, Uiagalelei may need to reassess his options.

Florida State and Miami were both attempting to land playmaking quarterback Cam Ward in the transfer portal. We may never know if the Seminoles had Ward or Uiagalelei listed first on their board.

Ward is going to need some help for this to be a competitive matchup on Oct. 26. The college football odds have Miami as an ACC contender at +400, just behind Florida State and Clemson.
Bettors would be wise to take the shorter odds with the Noles based on their stacked roster. While you’re at it, why not take a flier on FSU’s national title odds at +2500.
