Georgia Annihilates TCU for CFP National Championship
Bulldogs Are Back-to-Back Champions
Welcome to the Dawg Dynasty.
George blitzed TCU, 65-7, on Monday at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles to repeat as college football national champions.
The Bulldogs were in control throughout.
They led 17-7 after one quarter, 38-7 at the half, and 52-7 after the third.
It was a complete beatdown. Georgia scored the final 55 points. It was the most points scored in the BCS/CFP era for a champion.
Georgia QB Stetson Bennett played a little more than three quarters and accounted for 6 touchdowns. He threw 4 TD passes and went for 304 passing yards.
He also had 3 rushes for 39 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Bennett was named game MVP.
TCU did not lay a hand on Bennett on those TD runs. The Horned Frogs came into the game 13-0 but were totally overmatched against the Bulldogs.
Georgia was a heavy favorite in the CFP National Championship game and cruised to an easy cover. The 13.5-point closing line was never in doubt after the first 15 minutes.
