Texas is in a second-place tie in the Big 12 with Oklahoma, while Iowa State holds the top spot, giving us a great contest for our NCAAF online betting.
Texas has dominated, earning wins in 11 of the previous 14 meetings. The Cyclones have won two of the last five meetings, though both of those contests were in Ames, Iowa.

Last Game
Iowa State took care of business at home against Kansas State, winning easily, 45-0. The Cyclones were led by quarterback Brock Purdy, who threw three touchdowns and racked up close to 300 yards of total yardage. Running back Breece Hall carried the rock 15 times for 135 yards and was able to find the end zone twice.
The defense was also stellar, pitching its first shutout of the year and forcing three Kansas State turnovers. Kansas State was 4-3 coming into this contest, which really highlighted Iowa State’s dominance.
Stats Pack
Iowa State never landed a spot in the college football Top 25 from 2006 until 2017. Head coach Matt Campbell has been the reason for this success. He took over in 2016 and has completely changed the culture of this program.
Trends
Brock Purdy is completing over 70% of his passes this month with six touchdowns. This has been good for a 178.2 QB rating.

Last Game
In NCAAF COVID-19 news, the Texas vs Kansas game was postponed a week ago due to COVID-19 precautions. The Longhorns’ last appearance came inside Texas Memorial Stadium, where they beat West Virginia 17-13. The Texas defense got eaten up through the air but didn’t give an inch on the ground. Texas held West Virginia to 43 yards rushing. The Longhorns were also 3-for-3 on fourth-down stops, which ultimately made the difference in the Texas victory.
Offensively, quarterback Sam Ehlinger led the way. He wasn’t efficient, completing just under 50% of his passes, but he did throw the Longhorns’ only two touchdowns on the day. His second touchdown came with under eight minutes to go and ended up being the winning score for the Longhorns.
Stats Pack
Freshman running back Bijan Robinson had his first collegiate 100-yard game against West Virginia. Texas has given him the ball at least 12 times in each of his past three games.
Trends
Prior to last season, Texas hadn’t lost to Iowa State since 2015. Head coach Tom Herman is currently 2-1 against Iowa State since Campbell took over the Cyclones program.
Iowa State vs Texas Longhorns Week 13 Betting Odds: Betting on the Game
Point Spread
With such a small margin on the college football online odds, the team that covers will most likely win. Texas at home ATS is 1-2-1. As favorites, the Longhorns are 1-3-1. They don’t perform well ATS in big games as favorites, though. Iowa State is 4-4 overall ATS this season. The Cyclones are 1-2 on the road, but .500 as dogs.
Moneyline
When you look at common opponents, these teams don’t have the same results. Iowa State has beaten TCU and Oklahoma. Texas lost to both of those teams. On the other hand, Texas beat Oklahoma State, and Iowa State lost to the Cowboys by a touchdown. This has been a crazy year in the Big 12. It has been clear that any team can win on any given Saturday. Whichever defense plays the best will win this game, in my opinion.
Over/Under
These teams are a combined 9-6 on the over/under this year. They both have strong offenses. Iowa State is scoring 35 points per game, while Texas is scoring over 40. Both teams are weak against the run, so look for this to be a point of attack for each offensive coordinator on Saturday. This game has shootout written all over it, something to keep in mind when making your college football picks.
