He dominated the Northern Illinois defense on a night when both quarterbacks were brilliant. Northern Illinois quarterback Rocky Lombardi threw for 532 yards and three touchdowns, and yet he lost because Crum was amazing in his own right.

Central Michigan Chippewas

Next game: vs. Ball State

Last Game

The Chippewas entered as 10-point underdogs but handily defeated Western Michigan 42-30 on the road. Kalil Pimpleton was the star of the show for Central Michigan.

He returned two punts for touchdowns in the same quarter. He gave CMU 14 quick points in the second quarter, part of a 21-point explosion for the Chippewas.

CMU quarterback Daniel Richardson completed only 10 passes but they went for 230 yards, an average of 23 yards per completion. It all added up to 42 points and a comfortable road upset for the Chips.

The Chippewas are 3-5 against the spread and 4-4 in over-unders. One of their nine games didn’t have a betting line since it was against an FCS opponent.

Injury Report

The Chippewas have only one new injury from last week against Western Michigan. Offensive lineman Luke Goedeke is questionable for this upcoming game. No other new injuries were reported.

Betting on the Game

This is a tough conference to predict in the sportsbook and this game is tough to predict.

The fact that Central Michigan got multiple punt returns for touchdowns suggests that as long as Kent State doesn’t make its punts returnable, it can limit Central Michigan to fewer than 35 points, which in the MAC might be enough to win the game outright.

Final Score: Kent State 38, Central Michigan 34
