Surprise, surprise, surprise, Georgia is the favorite at +190 in the college football odds to win the SEC title and is also the team to beat in the race for the national title at +320.

While Georgia quarterback Carson Beck has fallen behind Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel in the Heisman Trophy odds and he will certainly miss throwing to dynamic tight end Brock Bowers, Beck is still in contention to be the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The return of Beck, who threw for 3941 yards with 24 touchdown passes and six interceptions, is just one of the reasons why Georgia is the team to beat this season.

Georgia has plenty of motivation after a loss to Alabama in the SEC championship game kept the Bulldogs out of the College Football Playoff field and prevented Georgia from making a run at a third straight national title.

The college football futures odds list Georgia at +320 to win the national title. There are -115 odds for Georgia to go either over or under 10½ wins during the regular season. While Georgia has struggled at times to cover against the spread, winning outright has not been an issue for the talent-laden Bulldogs.

The sports betting world loves the Georgia Bulldogs. A season-opening matchup with a Clemson squad that is running neck-and-neck with Florida State as the ACC favorite is a 13½-point underdog on Aug. 31.

Not only does that figure to be the most challenging of the non-conference games, but the matchups Tennessee Tech and UMass could be over not long after the opening kickoff.

Georgia hasn’t lost to Georgia Tech since 2016.

Certainly, playing at Alabama and Texas will be no easy task but the sportsbook odds have Georgia favored in both of those games.

The last time that an SEC team other than Alabama beat Georgia was in 2020 when Florida pulled off the upset.

LSU isn’t on the schedule. Georgia has won seven games in a row against Tennessee with each win coming by double digits. The Bulldogs are 11-1 in their last 12 matchups with Ole Miss and the Bulldogs will be heavy favorites against Auburn, Kentucky, Mississippi State, and Florida.

Why to Bet Georgia to Go Under 10½ Wins

There isn’t much margin for error for Georgia. Two losses would result in the Bulldogs finishing under 10½ regular-season wins.

Playing Alabama in Tuscaloosa is never an easy task even for a team as talented as Georgia even if the college football betting odds currently list Georgia as a 4½-point favorite in the Sept. 28 game. The real test could come later with a rugged four-game stretch against Texas, Florida, Ole Miss and Tennessee.

Having a bye week between the Texas and Florida games will be beneficial but Georgia will need to prove that it is the best team in the SEC over and over again even if the college football lines figure to have Georgia favored in every game this season.

Since the start of the 2020 season, Georgia has been the underdog just twice in the regular season so it will be interesting to see what happens if the college football trends have Georgia entering a game as the underdog.

Another year and more Georgia Bulldogs stars ended up going early in the NFL Draft. Tight end Brock Bowers, offensive lineman Amarius Mims, receiver Ladd McConkey and cornerback Kamari Lassiter were all top-50 selections in April’s draft.

Georgia dipped into the transfer portal to add even more talent to its roster. Vanderbilt receiver London Humphreys, Miami receiver Colbie Young and Florida running back Trevor Etienne could be difference makers on offense while South Carolina defensive lineman Xzavier McLeod is a new addition to watch on defense.

Recent mock drafts have defensive end Mykel Williams as one of the first defensive players chosen with offensive lineman Earnest Greene earning first-round grades.
