NCAAF Week 7 Winners and Losers
College Football Week 7 Winners and Losers: What Schools Thrived on NCAAF Bets and Which Ones Took a Nosedive?
Late Night Thrills
Week 7 of the college football left bettors sleepless. Blame Colorado and Colorado State for the games that wound up playing past midnight in many time zones. So, who were the winners and losers?

Winner: Colorado State provided the final flourish to a great weekend. The Rams were trailing Boise State 30-10 with four minutes left. Easy cover, right, even if you were giving 8.5 points.
Not so fast, Bronco bettors.
The Rams rallied and scored two touchdowns to close within 30-24. So, if you had Colorado State you get a back-door cover. But Money Line bettors were out of luck.
Nope.
On the final play of the game, Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi and Dallin Holker completed a Hail Mary. The PAT made the final score Colorado State 31, Boise State 30.

It ain’t ove until it’s over as they say.
Loser: Colorado Buffaloes. Deion Sanders’ team was routing Stanford, 29-0, at halftime. Easy money?
Stanford came out with fire after the break and wound up forcing overtime. In the free football section of the game, the Cardinal’s Joshua Karty kicked a field goal in the second session and Sanders and the Buffs were left reeling.
Winner: Notre Dame’s Xavier Watts. There had to be a reason the Fighting Irish were favored in the rivalry game with USC. ND had two losses; USC was undefeated coming in, Yet Notre Dame was favored by 3 at home.
Watts was happening as he had two interceptions of Caleb Williams and returned a fumble for a touchdown in Notre Dame’s 48-20 romp.
Losers: USC and Caleb Williams. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner came off a mediocre game against Arizona and had a worse one against Notre Dame. He threw 3 interceptions.
Williams, who dropped from Heisman favorite to second choice the week prior, is now +2500 and the sixth choice. Looks like he won’t join Archie Griffin as a repeat winner of the prestigious trophy.
Winners: Michael Penix Jr. and Washington. A thrilling victory over Oregon in a Pac-12 game was capped by a TD pass by the Heisman favorite. Penix is now -140 to win the Heisman.
Before going all-in on Penix remember this: The Huskies and their quarterback have a trip to Williams and USC on Nov. 4. One can be sure that the reigning Heisman winner and his Trojans will be primed to spoil Penix’ trophy campaign.
Losers: The NCAA. Nothing can erase the damage it did by suspending North Carolina’s Tez Walker for the early part of the season.
Winner: The Tar Heels’ Tez Walker. The great WR stuck it to Miami and the NCAA with three touchdown catches in the ACC game.
Loser: Syracuse. How many years can the Orange start with a soft schedule, win all those games and wind up getting reality checks week after week when the going gets tough. It feels like a rerun of the same script on an annual basis.
Winner: Jedd Fisch and Arizona. A week after giving USC a scare, the Wildcats went into Pullman and clobbered Washington State. It isn’t every day when you fall behind 6-0 on the scoreboard with a 7½-point and rattle off the next 44 points.
Loser: UCLA and Dante Moore. Will Chip Kelly wind up on the hot seat? Why not? He has gone with a freshman QB after seeing Dorian Thompson-Robinson leave for the NFL. Oregon State was a four-point favorite and got a pick-six of Moore – his third already – and the Beavers covered in a 12-point win.
Losers: Sam Houston State and Nevada. The only schools left without wins in big-time college football.
Winners: Houston and its backers. The Cougars were down 39-35 and not covering the 3-point spread against West Virginia. And then this happened.

Losers: West Virginia and those who gave 3 points to Houston. Reason? See above.
