Pac-12 Conference Roundup Week 7

It might be a stretch to see a Pac-12 team in the College Football Playoff , but that doesn’t mean the conference race hasn’t been great. Upsets continue to be the theme throughout this league, and that will affect the college football odds each week.

There are five games on the schedule this weekend in the Pac-12 Conference, and a couple of them have very close college football spreads.

California Golden Bears at Oregon Ducks

Odds: Oregon -13½

The first chance to bet online this weekend in the Pac-12 takes place on Friday night as the 4-1 Oregon Ducks play host to the 1-4 California Golden Bears. This is the largest spread of the weekend in the Pac-12 Conference and feels like a mismatch on paper.

Oregon running back CJ Verdell continues to punish opposing defenses, racking up 406 yards and six touchdowns. The Ducks are still searching for a way to get more yards in the passing attack, but they should be able to run it well in this matchup.

California has allowed nearly 28 points per game and has also struggled to get points on the board. The Golden Bears managed just six points in a Week 6 loss to Washington State and they are going to struggle to move the ball vs Oregon.

Friday night Pac-12 games have a history of producing some surprising results but don’t expect to see that in this game. Oregon is going to roll to another blowout victory.

Arizona Wildcats at Colorado Buffaloes

Odds: Colorado -6½

The Arizona Wildcats are still looking for their first win and they will try to get it against a struggling Colorado team. This won’t be easy for the Wildcats, who will be without starting quarterback Jordan McCloud.

Head coach Jedd Fisch acknowledged that McCloud will be out for a while and was upset about the injury after last week’s game vs UCLA. McCloud said of the injury, “I think there was a little bit of a deflation there.”

Colorado has now lost four straight games, a streak that started with a near-upset of Texas A&M. The Buffaloes are solid favorites but they will need to play much better.

Don’t expect a very well-played game but Colorado will pull away late for a double-digit win.

Stanford Cardinal at Washington State Cougars

Odds: Stanford -1½

One of the more intriguing games to bet on at the sportsbook this weekend will be this matchup between the Washington State Cougars and the Stanford Cardinal. Both teams come into this game with 3-3 records and each has had some interesting results.

Stanford has the biggest win of the year in the Pac-12 Conference, knocking off Oregon at home. The Cardinal were unable to pull off another upset in their most recent game against Arizona State, falling 28-10.

Washington State has won two straight games after beating Oregon State. The Cougars are heading in the right direction, but this game should show just how far they’ve come.

The Cougars are still very one-dimensional on offense and Stanford has been a solid defensive team at times. Playing at home will give Washington State a slight edge, but there are still some questions on this team.

Stanford runs the football well and is facing a team that gives up plenty of yards on the ground. The Cardinal should be able to take control with that attack and they will pick up a solid win on the road.

UCLA Bruins at Washington Huskies

Odds: Washington -1½

The Washington Huskies (2-3) are slight betting favorites when they play host to the 4-2 UCLA Bruins on Saturday. UCLA blew out Arizona 34-16 in its most recent game while Washington is coming off of a 27-24 loss to Oregon State.

Washington was supposed to be one of the favorites to win the Pac-12. The Huskies are holding opponents to less than 20 points per game and that unit will play a big role in this game.

UCLA quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson is one of the most talented players in the Pac-12 and he is having a big season. Thompson-Robinson has thrown for 1,236 yards and 11 touchdowns, and he will put pressure on the Washington defense.

The Huskies just haven’t been able to really get things going while UCLA is playing with some momentum. Look for the Bruins to upset the Huskies.

Arizona State Sun Devils at Utah Utes

Odds: Pick’em

The Utah Utes come into this game with a ton of momentum after blowing out the USC Trojans 42-26 on Saturday night. Arizona State has its sights set on winning the Pac-12 Conference, but this is going to be a very difficult matchup on the road.

Utah is allowing 23.0 points per game but the Utes have the ability to be completely dominant on that side of the ball. They have now won two straight games, and it has been the defense that is leading the way.

Quarterback Jayden Daniels is having a monster season for the Sun Devils, but he needs to be better in the red Zone. The Sun Devils have been playing great defensively as well, but this team wants to score points to win games.

This should be a tight game throughout, but Arizona State is the more talented team. Take the Sun Devils to cover the spread as they move to 6-1.
