Head-to-Head

These two in-state conference rivals haven’t met much in recent years, with the most recent matchup happening in 2017 — a win at home by the Bobcats. Ohio has won the last two encounters, but Toledo absolutely dominated in the two-plus decades before that, taking 12 straight from 1989 to 2010.

Overall, the Rockets have a 26-7-1 record against the Bobcats, including 10-6-1 mark as the road team. Ohio won by 28 in the last meeting, but the three previous games were all decided by seven points or less.

Last Game

Toledo had a big offensive game against Bowling Green, scoring 35 of the final 42 points in a 49-17 victory over the host Falcons. The Rockets matched their season high with 49 points, reaching the mark for a second straight week and the third time this season.

Quarterback Dequan Finn completed 18 of 24 passes for 270 yards and three touchdowns to lead the offensive onslaught, hitting eight different receivers in the contest. Bryant Koback powered the ground game, rushing 19 times for 121 yards and two scores.

The Rockets moved to 5-5 against the spread this season, winning two of their last three. Toledo has a 4-1 mark ATS when playing as the road team.

Injury Report

The Rockets don’t have any major injuries to worry about heading into this week’s contest.

Ohio Bobcats

Next game: at Bowling Green

Last Game

The Bobcats won their second game in a row, pulling away in the second half to win 34-26 over the host Eastern Michigan Eagles. Ohio scored 14 straight after the Eagles tied the game early in the third quarter and held on for the victory.

Quarterback Kurtis Rourke led the way with 230 yards and three touchdowns through the air as well as 55 rushing yards on six carries. De’Montre Tuggle led the ground attack with 78 yards on 14 carries, while the second half of the Bobcats’ quarterback duo, Armani Rogers, had 61 yards on 10 carries.

The Bobcats are 5-5 against the spread after winning for the fifth time in six games. Ohio is 2-3 ATS when playing at home, taking two of the last three played in Athens, Ohio.

Injury Report

Though they’ve dealt with injuries all season, the Bobcats should be ready to go for their last home game.

Toledo vs Ohio Betting Preview

Ohio is on a two-game winning streak while Toledo has its offense cooking right now. This game should be very close throughout, with the Rockets trying to become bowl-eligible with a victory. The Bobcats are fighting to finish above .500 in conference play and close with a flourish.

Finn was very effective last week against Bowling Green, and he’s thrown for at least two touchdowns in each of the last three games. Ohio struggles against the pass, allowing 246.6 yards through the air per game, so look for Finn to test the Bobcats’ secondary early and often.

The Rockets’ defense has been the more stout of these two teams, allowing 21.5 points per game. How well Toledo can slow down the Ohio ground attack will be key, but we like the Rockets to get the job done and win on the road.

With the way Toledo has been putting up points lately, your college football picks might include the team’s over of 33, much less the combined total of 58. The Rockets are starting to roll, so both bets are good ones to make for this Tuesday night affair.

Final Score: Toledo 38, Ohio 21
