  • Florida State (+280) and Clemson (+350) are once again the favorites in our odds to win the ACC.
  • SMU, Stanford, and Cal will make their ACC debut this season.
  • Find out why the Noles will be tough to beat in the ACC.

Stop us if you’ve heard this before, the ACC race starts and ends with Florida State along with Clemson unless a spoiler emerges this season. As drama continues to surround the future of this conference, what we do know is that the Tigers and Seminoles should have a major say in who wins the conference. NCAA football odds have Florida State as the favorite to win the conference at +280 followed by Clemson at +350.

As a reminder, the ACC welcomes Cal, Stanford, and SMU this season just as we all expected. We’re taking a look at the top ACC matchups in 2024. For the sake of simplicity, these do not include ACC teams’ non-conference games.

Wondering about other conferences? Here’s the list of my top games to bet in the Pac-12.

4 ACC Teams Worth a Bet in 2024

1. Clemson Looks to Reintroduce Themselves vs FSU (October 5)

Clemson opens the season against Georgia, so we should have a good feel for the Tigers by the time this matchup rolls around. Even if Clemson gets boat raced by Georgia, it will not have an impact on the ACC title race.

Clemson and Florida State are still the two heavyweights in the ACC. Dabo Swinney is still out to prove that the Tigers can win without utilizing the transfer portal.

2. Miami Aims to Renew Rivalry With Florida State (October 26)

It feels like we were playing the old NCAA video game on original PlayStations the last time this rivalry game had title implications. At the very least, we are going to see the top two prizes in this offseason’s transfer portal square off.

Both Florida State and Miami were linked to Cam Ward and DJ Uiagalelei at various times this offseason. Ward landed with the Canes, while Uiagalelei signed with the Noles.

Every year we are told Miami is back, and my skepticism this offseason is no different. If the Hurricanes can finally stop being the boy who cried wolf, this matchup just got much more entertaining.

BetUS Sportsbook has Miami third among the favorites to win the ACC at +400.

3. Florida State Versus Notre Dame Has Us in Our Feels (November 9)

By now, you’re probably sick of hearing about Florida State. This also speaks to the lack of serious firepower in the ACC outside of Clemson and Florida State.

We’re making a bit of an exception to the rule here by including the Notre Dame matchup. The Irish are not technically in the ACC but are a bit like being friends with benefits.

Notre Dame has a scheduling arrangement with the ACC which has the team’s slate of games looking more similar than not to others in the conference. Longtime fans of college football will remember the Charlie Ward era that had some epic FSU-Notre Dame matchups.

This quasi-ACC matchup may have the biggest implications on the College Football Playoff race. It’s rare for me to back such a heavy favorite, but the Noles still offer nice value in our ACC betting odds given the lack of perceived depth of the conference.

4. North Carolina and NC State Hope to Be in the ACC Race (November 30)

Welcome to the non-Noles portion of our story. I am not certain either of these programs will be contending in the conference by the time this game kicks off.

Yet, I am including this matchup out of hope for what this rivalry game could be. North Carolina and NC State closing out the regular season with a potential spot in the ACC Championship game on the line would be pretty epic. If you were looking for some early college football picks, the Wolfpack (+700) is viewed as much more of an ACC contender than the Tar Heels (+3000).
