Crimson Tide Big Favorites
The Alabama Crimson Tide (9-2, 5-2 in SEC) are 22-point favorites to win the 2022 Iron Bowl against their intrastate and SEC rival Auburn Tigers (5-6, 2-5) Saturday afternoon.
Despite two losses on its record, Alabama is ranked eighth in the country. It’s a quality team and we’re not surprised by the NCAAF odds.
Let’s check the latest college football odds, stats, injury reports, and college football lines for Auburn vs Alabama. We’ve plenty of NCAA football odds for you to consider.
Auburn Against It
The home team is 5-0 against the spread in the last five Iron Bowl games, so visiting Auburn has some history to defy.
Auburn isn’t a good team, either, needing to greatly improve to match Alabama. We’re not sure if that’s possible.
At 5-6, the Tigers are probably not getting to a bowl game. the season-ending bowl game, but getting more than three touchdowns with the sportsbook in a rivalry game is intriguing.
Auburn was a 41-17 victor over Western Kentucky, but facing Alabama on the road is slightly different. While the Tigers are just 5-6 against the spread (ATS), they’ve beaten the number in three consecutive games, including a 39-33 overtime loss (as 12½-point underdogs) against Mississippi St.
Bettors Not Toasting Tide
Alabama is also just 5-6 ATS, having lost its last three ATS.
Betting online markets had the Crimson Tide at -45½ last week and -10½ against Ole Miss. They didn’t succeed in covering either, so perhaps some concern when giving away 22 points in this game.
The only spread they have covered since October was against Mississippi St. winning, 30-6, as a 21½-point fave. It’s not been easy backing the Tide.
So losing, 32-31, to LSU all but sealed their fate. There won’t be a playoff appearance by coach Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide this season.
“It would be an understatement to say how disappointed our team is,” Saban said. “Sometimes, we beat ourselves too much and it’s kind of hard to overcome. It was a tough loss, but there’s nobody that feels worse about it than the players.“

Las Vegas lines have Auburn at +22, and we think that’s too high. We would have had them around +17½, so we’re taking Auburn to cover the spread.
