Beavers Belong Among Best Bets in College Football Games For Nov. 4
There’s a new TV program, frequently appearing in Prime Time, called Run For Your Life. It stars Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, with coach Deion Sanders and the offensive line playing prominent roles. Oregon State enjoys the show and is happy to make a cameo on Saturday night. The Vegas odds indicate that the Beavers will have a damn good time.
Buffaloes Bettor Keep Shedeur Sanders Upright
Shedeur is taking a beating. Colorado’s quarterback and Coach Prime’s son has been sacked a whopping 42 times, second-most among the 130 FBS teams. Oregon State is 12th nationally with 3.25 sacks per game. An ineffective offensive line and a lack of a running game (129th nationally) led to Shedeur needing an injection at halftime to “block the pain” during a 28-16 setback against UCLA last week when he absorbed seven sacks and 13 knockdowns.

#UCLA EDGE rushers Laiatu Latu, Gabriel Murphy (#11) and Grayson Murphy (#12) combined for a massive day vs Colorado and was in the face of Shedeur Sanders on any given play.

“Overall, we just don’t have the fight and the passion to do what we want to do,’‘ Coach Prime told the media. “The line has to improve. We have to have enough depth to be able to accomplish the goals that we set out to accomplish.”
Shedeur averages 378 passing yards per home game, so here’s a vote that Deion figures something out for his kid. Shedeur has deep threats galore at his disposal, but it takes them a couple seconds to get down the field. Perhaps more designed rollouts will help against Oregon State’s average pass defense, and give the offensive line a bit of confidence.
College Football Pick: Sanders Over 284½ Passing Yards
Get Tight at the Sportsbook with Oregon State’s Velling
Oregon State has been among the best college football teams in the Pac-12 with its two losses each coming by three points. One of those came last week in a 27-24 setback at Arizona. The Beavers have no problem running the ball at 187.1 yards per game. Colorado sits in the bottom third nationally in rushing defense, so Damien Martinez (95 per game) could run free.
Oregon State also boasts a solid passing game behind quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, who has thrown 17 touchdown passes. Eight of those have gone to tight end Jack Velling, who has six in the last three games. Look for the Beavers to establish the running attack, which will create opportunities for Velling and the other receivers to succeed.
College Football Picks: Parlay Jack Velling and Damien Martinez anytime TD scorers, and Martinez over 87 rushing yards
Beavers Will Work Well When Wagering, But Not So Fast
Oregon State is a 13½-point favorite with the total set at 63 points. Colorado, though, should come out swinging and be effective for a half before the Beavers really get to work. The Buffaloes led 6-0 after one quarter and trailed 7-6 at halftime as heavy underdogs against UCLA, and can do something similar for the Folsom Field faithful against Oregon State.
College Football Picks: Colorado +7 first half, Under 31 first half
Colorado has lost two straight and four of its last five as the star of its spectacular 3-0 start fades. The Buffaloes won one game last year, so 2023 is already a victory of sorts. Coach Prime has made many college football predictions look silly while transforming the program in the national spotlight, but he can’t protect his son on the field.
College Football Pick: Oregon State -13½ and Over 63
