Best ACC Championship Prop Bets: Louisville vs Florida State

There’s no question that when it comes to nailing down the best props bets or evaluating NCAA football betting lines in a specific game, attempting to do so during a conference championship matchup can be a tall task. There are a number of things to consider and factor in, and that especially stands true in the ACC title game, where undefeated Florida State looks to overcome the loss of starting quarterback Jordan Travis.

Backup quarterback Tate Rodemaker saw extended action against North Alabama following the injury to Travis and then proceeded to start against Florida. He remains a huge question mark in this game, as Rodemaker took on the role of game manager in FSU’s 24-15 win over the Gators.

We’re going to tread lightly on the props for the FSU quarterback, but there are a few other spots that jump out as great potential plays to target in this game.

Roll With One of Most Explosive RBs

Louisville running back Jawhar Jordan has been one of the best college football bets in plus matchups to find the end zone. The junior has totaled 1,076 yards and 13 rushing touchdowns while averaging 6.4 yards per attempt on the year. He scored twice last week against Kentucky and managed to reach paydirt in eight of 12 games, including scoring twice in a single game on five occasions.

But the most important aspect for targeting his rushing total here is the fact that the Florida State pass defense has been exceptional, allowing just 175.3 yards per game. The same doesn’t stand entirely true when it comes to the Seminoles’ run defense, as they’ve allowed 140.2 yards per game this year, which should set Jordan up well to be the focal point of Louisville’s offensive attack.

Jordan’s over/under for rushing yards here is set at 72½, a number that he’s topped seven times this season. Considering the fact Louisville could lean heavily on the ground game, I think we see Jordan put together a stellar showing in the biggest game of the team’s season.

NCAAF Pick: Louisville RB Jawhar Jordan over 72½ rushing yards (-113)

Two Anytime TD Scorers With Parlay Potential

This college football betting pick is going to technically contain two different selections, which we can parlay together for solid odds. I detailed Jordan’s knack for finding the end zone above, and he’s fresh off the aforementioned two-score game. I think he finds the end zone at least once here, and getting him with plus-money odds as an anytime touchdown scorer is incredibly appealing.

Next up, we have Florida State running back Trey Benson. It’s worth noting before anything that Louisville has been stellar against opposing run games, allowing just 96.8 yards per game on the ground. With that said, this is a unique spot for the Florida State running back and the team as a whole.

Benson needs to find a way to make Rodemaker’s life as easy as possible. This is exactly what he did against Florida in the win, accounting for all three of the team’s touchdowns in the 24-15 victory. Benson’s play was a saving grace for the Seminoles, and he’s going to be relied upon again. Our NCAAF odds for him to score a touchdown prove that it’s expected to play out that way as well since he checks in at -167 to find the end zone.

I like both players to score at least one TD in the ACC title game, but parlaying them together has appeal, as the parlay sets up odds of +236.

NCAAF Pick: Trey Benson (-167) & Jawhar Jordan (+110) to score 1+ TD – Parlay (+236)

Target Wilson’s Receiving Yards

While Rodemaker remains the ultimate wild card in this game, we did learn one thing from seeing him play a full game against Florida — he’s a fan of targeting wide receiver Johnny Wilson. Aside from tight end Jaheim Bell, who had three catches, no Florida State player had more than one grab against the Gators, with Wilson being the exception.

The junior wideout caught six passes in the win over Florida, totaling 64 yards, and immediately stood out as Rodemaker’s favorite target. He’s been arguably the most consistent receiver for the Seminoles this season, totaling 596 yards and two scores.

If the game against Florida was any indication, I think we see Rodemaker look Wilson’s way early and often, and he should have no problem clearing an over/under of 57½ receiving yards here.

NCAAF Pick: Florida State WR Johnny Wilson over 57½ receiving yards (-113)
