The day could not have gone any better for coach James Franklin’s team. Penn State smothered Auburn’s offense and allowed only 12 points in a lopsided win.
The Nittany Lions didn’t allow a touchdown until they had the game well in hand in the fourth quarter. PSU led 31-6 after three quarters and cruised to the finish line in a complete team performance. Final score: 41-12.
This was a blended team win in which everyone made valuable contributions, but the defense led the charge and gave the offense ample breathing room throughout the contest.
