3 College Football ATS Picks to Bet in Week 11

1. Syracuse (+2) Extends BC Losing Streak

The Syracuse Orange have been one of the hotter teams in the ACC lately, winning four of their last five, including an overtime victory at home against Virginia Tech last weekend. Syracuse’s only loss in its last five contests was a road setback against then-undefeated Pittsburgh two weeks ago.

Now the Orange hit the road to face a reeling Boston College Eagles squad that is on a three-game losing skid. The Eagles have had a week off with a bye since their last loss, but we don’t see that helping against the Orange.

Despite its slide, Boston College is a two-point favorite at home. Even when they were winning, the Eagles weren’t exactly dominating, beating Michigan State by four and Western Kentucky by one in their last two victories.

Syracuse has a potent offensive attack when it gets going, led by quarterback Kyle McCord. The Ohio State transfer has thrown for 2,761 yards and 21 touchdowns this season. He does need to avoid the bad play – he’s thrown 12 interceptions – but he was better at that last week.

A week after throwing five interceptions and being sacked four times by Pittsburgh, McCord had just one interception and one sack against Virginia Tech. Look for another solid game by McCord as Syracuse proves worthy of one of your college football picks with an outright win on the road and a definite cover.

2. Back Upset-Minded Texas Tech (+3½) vs Visiting Colorado

Want to watch a lot of passing? Tune in to see the Colorado Buffaloes take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders in a Big 12 Conference matchup on Saturday.

Two of the top 16 passers in terms of yardage this season will be squaring off in Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Texas Tech’s Behren Morton. Sanders has thrown for 2,591 yards and 21 touchdowns while Morton has 2,300 yards and 19 touchdowns through the air.

The Red Raiders are coming off probably the biggest upset of last weekend, making college football news by knocking off previously unbeaten Iowa State 23-22. Morton led the Red Raiders on the game-winning, 71-yard drive in the final two minutes of the contest on the road.

One big difference in this game is going to be the fact the Red Raiders have a solid running game to rely on as well. Senior Tahj Brooks went over the 1,000-yard mark with 122 yards and a touchdown against the Cyclones.

Per Colorado vs Texas Tech stats, Brooks has eclipsed 100 yards in each of his eight games this season and has scored at least one touchdown in seven of those contests.

In what should be a fun shootout, we like the Red Raiders to keep things at least very close – if not pull out an outright win. Make sure you back Texas Tech ATS – and maybe a touchdown prop on Brooks – in online betting.

3. Virginia Tech (+6½) Keeps It Close vs Clemson

The Clemson Tigers were looking like a top contender for the ACC Championship Game and possibly the College Football Playoff, but last week’s loss to Louisville hurt their chances in both cases. Clemson had won six straight after a season-opening loss to Georgia, but of those six victories, five came against teams with .500 or worse records.

Against teams with over-.500 records, the Tigers are 1-2 straight up, and now they take on another over-.500 team in the Virginia Tech Hokies. The Hokies are coming off an overtime loss to Syracuse last week, but had won three straight prior to that.

Virginia Tech’s biggest game of the season was also a loss, falling by just four points on the road to unbeaten Miami on Sept. 27. The Hokies can keep this one close or even get a win if they can control the clock and keep the Tigers’ offense in check.

Two major questions for the Hokies are the statuses of quarterback Kyron Drones (lower body) and running back Bhayshul Tuten (ankle), both of whom missed last week’s loss to Syracuse. Monitor NCAAF news for injury updates.

Tuten, who has rushed for 951 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, was considered probable against the Orange but wasn’t able to go. Drones, who has rushed for at least one touchdown in his last three games, was also a late decision not to play. Both are big keys for the Virginia Tech offense, though the Hokies still scored 31 points against Syracuse without them.

With or without the key players, Virginia Tech should stand strong against Clemson in this one. Take the Hokies getting the 6½ points for a win with the last of our NCAAF predictions.
