  • Pittsburgh looks to stay perfect against the spread when Cal comes to town.
  • Expect the NC State-Syracuse clash to be a back-and-forth affair.

Four games involving ACC teams in Week 6 were decided by one score so there was much more going on than just an improbable comeback win by undefeated Miami. Along with the Hurricanes, Pitt, SMU and Wake Forest all won ACC matchups on the road last week, with SMU and Wake Forest listed by the college football spread as the road underdog.

The Week 7 schedule is not quite as compelling, although Clemson, Georgia Tech and Syracuse are all road favorites on Saturday. There are bigger games to come as four ACC teams have won at least three games in a row.

Miami and Clemson are the only ACC teams among the top 10 teams in our odds to win the national championship. Miami, Clemson and SMU are the only ACC teams in the top 25 in the latest Associated Press poll.

Let’s take a look at some of the bets to consider in the ACC in Week 7.

Top 3 ACC Bets for Week 7

1. Pittsburgh to Cover as Home Favorite vs Cal

Cal almost made some college football news and nearly came through with an upset for the ages as the Bears led a top-10 Miami team 35-10 at one point. Fans at California Memorial Stadium were preparing the storm the field before Heisman Trophy front-runner Cam Ward’s touchdown pass with 26 seconds left to play and the ensuing extra point lifted the Hurricanes to the 39-38 victory. Miami scored touchdowns on its final three drives.

It is understandable if the Bears are a little deflated after they allowed victory to be plucked from their grasp. Now they have to travel across the country to face an undefeated ACC team for the second week in a row.

Pittsburgh isn’t getting the love that Miami does. However, the Panthers did open conference play with a 10-point road win against North Carolina.

Go with Pittsburgh to cover at -3 in the first meeting between the programs since 1966.

2. Clemson-Wake Forest Game to Go Over 60-Point Total

Clemson hasn’t lost to Wake Forest since 2008. However, what happened in the Vanderbilt-Alabama game in Week 6 is a reminder that nothing is guaranteed on a football Saturday, especially during the transfer portal and NIL era.

There would certainly be a sizable payout for those rolling with Wake Forest at +825 to win Saturday’s ACC clash outright. That’s a little too extravagant of a college football pick for our tastes.

The last time Clemson played at Wake Forest, it took a fourth-down stop in the second overtime session for the Tigers to escape with the 51-45 victory.

Only North Carolina State is allowing more points per game among ACC teams than Wake Forest, so this is going to be quite the test for the Demon Deacons as the 20-point underdog at home.

Since being limited to three points in a season-opening loss to Georgia, Clemson has averaged 48.5 points so this has a chance to be another high-scoring affair. Even with the total a bit on the high side at 60, go with the matchup between the Demon Deacons and Tigers to land over the total.

3. Neither Syracuse Nor NC State to Score 3 Times in a Row

Picking the Syracuse-UNLV game to go under the BetUS sportsbook total in Week 6 was the only miscue in last week’s ACC best bets. Hopefully, we will have a better read on the 4-1 Orange this week.

The home team won by 24 and 15 points the last two times that Syracuse met up with North Carolina State. This is a much-improved Syracuse team that is coming off a win at UNLV as a road underdog. North Carolina State has covered in just one of its last 10 games as a home favorite.

This game has a feel of a back-and-forth affair as the NC State defense will look to disrupt Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord and prove it is better than its 3-3 record.

We like the +153 odds for neither team to score more than three times in a row as NC State is allowing 317 yards per game at home compared to 492 yards on the road.

Bet This Pick: Neither Syracuse nor NC State Will Score Three Times In A Row (+153)
