It’s one of the bigger college football lines of Week 3, and we don’t think any bettor is brave enough to pick the upset.

However, UTSA gets a lot of points to work with and it could be a tight result on the betting line.

UTSA vs Texas Betting Keys

Roadrunners Not Proving Wiley

It was a good start to the year for the UTSA Roadrunners when beating Kennesaw State 28-16, but they got a reality check last week.

They were thumped 49-10 by Texas State, and that’s not a good form guide when you’re about to play Texas, the much better team from the state and the No. 2 team in the nation.

It’s why BetUS Sportsbook has have UTSA at +35½, and we struggle to see where its offense comes from. Quarterback Owen McCown has been solid enough, but most of his stats came against Kennesaw State.

Their biggest problem comes at running back, with leading rusher Robert Henry amassing just 56 yards on 15 carries. That’s not setting the world alight and we struggle to see how the Roadrunners stay competitive in this game.

The line could move throughout the week, and bettors could be facing a +37½ line on game day.

Texas Marching Closer to No. 1

Dethroning Georgia as the top-ranked team in the nation won’t be easy, but the Longhorns are making a strong case.

They got past the Colorado State Rams without conceding a point before beating defending national champion Michigan 31-12, which is a strong win – especially on the road.

We have been impressed with Quinn Ewers, who had three touchdown passes against Michigan, which was ranked 10th before the loss.

This one game isn’t going to define our season, but I think it would serve as a pretty good barometer of the type of team that we could be,” Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian said.

There is plenty of confidence with this team and that’s showing with college football odds. The line expects Texas to win with ease, and although covering a -35½ line isn’t easy for any team, we expect this game to be one-sided.

The Longhorns won’t feel threatened by UTSA, and it could be one of their biggest scores of the year. We expect Texas to put up around 45 points, and we can’t see the Roadrunners doing much on offense.

Runaway Win for Texas

We would have been prepared to take around -38 for Texas, and it could be one of those games where it leads 21-0 after the first quarter.

Not much respite is expected from UTSA, which should get blown out of the stadium by a loud Texas crowd and could falter under the pressure.

Ewers is likely to have a massive game at QB and he could put up big numbers. He is having a good year and is the favorite in the Heisman Trophy odds at +500.

We’re also backing under 55 points, mostly because we don’t see many points coming from the Roadrunners. They could struggle to score double digits.

Bet on Texas -35½ (-110) and Under 55½ (-110) vs UTSA
