The Colorado Buffaloes already had a lot of eyes on them due to their star power, and now they are playing well enough for bettors to take a moneyline shot with them as underdogs in the NCAAF odds on Saturday against No. 19 Kansas State.

The Buffaloes have won three straight games since a rough performance against Nebraska and showed a lot of improvements when they beat previously unbeaten UCF 48-21 on the road two weeks ago.

Colorado should be well rested for a Big 12 battle with Kansas State, which rebounded from its only loss in five games with an impressive 42-20 victory over Oklahoma State. The Wildcats also had a week off to take a look at tape.

Kansas State is currently a 4-point favorite and we think you could add the Buffaloes to spruce up a college football parlay.

Bettors will certainly find out if Colorado is for real in this one.

Why Colorado is Best Week 7 Upset Pick

1. Air Attack Could Key Win for Buffaloes

The Buffaloes have one of the best quarterbacks and receiving corps in the country. There is no debate about that.

Shedeur Sanders, the son of coach Deion “Prime Time” Sanders, has thrown for 1,630 yards and 14 touchdowns with three interceptions. He has been sacked 17 times, but just twice against UCF.

Kansas State allows 244.2 yards per game through the air and Colorado has four players with at least 17 catches. Two-way star Travis Hunter, +300 to win the Heisman Trophy in the NCAA future odds, is tied for fifth in the nation with six TD receptions and has 561 receiving yards.

If the Wildcats can’t get to Shedeur Sanders and try to lock down Hunter, Jimmy Horn Jr., LaJohntay Wester and Will Sheppard can make things happen. The Buffaloes are running the ball slightly better as well, averaging 3.0 yards after finishing 2023 at 2.3.

We expect that the offense and the home crowd makes Colorado a solid prediction to pull off an upset.

2. Kansas State Not Shining on Road

The Wildcats are a worthy favorite in the contest after their dominant win over Oklahoma State last time out.

However, Kansas State has not been very impressive in its lone two road games. The Wildcats intercepted a pass in the end zone late to win at Tulane by seven and were routed at BYU 38-9.

It might take a solid road win in Boulder to convince online bettors to pick Kansas State when the Big 12 championship is decided. The Wildcats certainly have plenty of talent, led by running back DJ Giddens (604 yards) and quarterback Avery Johnson (nine TD strikes).

Much will depend on Kansas State getting a pass rush on Sanders, but we think Colorado will make enough plays.

3. UCLA, USF, Vandy Present Upset Value

It would be hard to match last Saturday’s upset parade. Alabama, Michigan, Tennessee and USC all went down. Miami had to rally from 25 points down to avoid joining that list.

There are a few teams that could wake up and pay off as longshots this week. We’re not sure why you wouldn’t take a shot with Vanderbilt, which shocked No. 1 Alabama and opened as an 14-point underdog in the college football lines at Kentucky.

The wake-up list includes South Florida and UCLA.

USF was hammered at Tulane last time out and is a 7-point underdog at home on Friday versus Memphis. The Bulls are way better than they played the last six quarters

UCLA is home and might surprise Minnesota (-5), which beat USC last Saturday. The Bruins have played well at times (tied with LSU at half), but have yet to put a full game together in the SEC.

Washington is coming off a big win over Michigan and may ride that momentum into Iowa, where it is a 3-point underdog, while North Carolina (+6) could end its slide with an upset win over Georgia Tech at home.
