Fresno State Worthy of Laying Big Number Over Kent State
The late Saturday night game features a cross-conference matchup between Kent State and undefeated Fresno State. Below we reveal one of our best NCAAF bets on Sept. 23 as we analyze this contest to determine whether the Bulldogs are capable of covering one of the larger college football spreads on the board.
Here’s a look at some NCAA football odds, to consider.

Golden Flashes Prevail
Kent State took a thumping in their season opener, a 56-6 road loss to UCF, and didn’t come close to covering the 35.5-point impost for their sports betting backers.
The pain would continue the following week with a 28-6 loss to Arkansas only this time the underdog bettors were rewarded as the Flashes hung within the margins and covered as a whopping 38-point road hound.
Last week, the Las Vegas odds turned the tables and installed Kent State as 21.5-point home favorites over lightly regarded FCS entry Central Connecticut, and the chalk-eaters were rewarded as the Golden Flashes looked impressive in a 38-10 victory last week.
Kent State quarterback Michael Alaimo only had 172 yards passing but the ground game did most of the work in piling up 295 yards, a 3-yard touchdown run by Alaimo.
Bulldogs Look to Go 4-0
If you are making your college football bets on Sept. 23, then you could do worse than laying the heavy lumber on Fresno State. The Bulldogs began the season with a solid 39-35 victory over Big Ten foe Purdue as four-point road dogs.
The following week, the Bulldogs inexplicably struggled against FCS challenger Eastern Washington but ultimately prevailed 34-31 in double overtime. The college football odds on that matchup had Fresno State as 30-point home favorites, but they were lucky to win the game let alone covering the big number.
However, last week the Bulldogs shook off the funk from their struggle with Eastern Washington by traveling to the desert and blasting the Sun Devils 29-0, leaving no question as to how good this team can be when they are locked and loaded.
The NCAAF betting lines revealed Fresno State as four-point road dogs but they forced an astounding eight turnovers in that contest and shut out Arizona State at home for the first time since 1988. Bulldogs’ quarterback Mikey Keene threw for 281 yards along with a pair of touchdowns.

Kent State vs Fresno State Best Bet

The Bulldogs are ranked 26th in the nation, averaging 295 yards per game, entering this matchup.
We should also point out Kent State’s rankings in the following categories:

Lousy numbers, right? But what makes them even worse is that the Golden Flashes haven’t played a ranked team and Fresno State is the closest of any of Kent State’s previous opponents to being named in the Top 25, garnering 17 votes last week.
Sure, it’s a lot of points to lay but would it shock anyone if Fresno State won by at least four touchdowns based on nothing more than their aerial attack alone? I don’t think so, lay it and like it with the Dawgs.
