Georgia vs Missouri Prediction, Preview, Stream, Odds & Picks
The Georgia Bulldogs were far and away the best college football team in America through the first three games of the season. Then, a strange Week 4 game against Kent State where they didn’t look crisp while failing to cover the college football odds.
Those who bet online wondering if it was just a blip, or is there any cause for concern? We will see in Week 5.
Let’s check the latest NCAAF odds, stats, injury reports, and NCAAF lines for Georgia vs Missouri. We’ve plenty of Vegas NCAAF odds for you to consider.
Georgia Bulldogs
With a defense that was nearly impossible to handle in 2021, Georgia stumbled against only one opponent, Alabama in the SEC title game. There was revenge against the Tide in the national title game.
Non-Alabama opponents never scored more than 17 points in any game against Georgia in 2021. Only one non-Alabama team, Tennessee, scored more than 13 versus the Dawgs.
Therefore, when any team scores more than 17 points, it’s a story. In Week 4, Kent State had 22 points in Athens. That’s an eye-opener, though Georgia Bulldogs won by 17.
Was this a case of a team lazily taking the week off while playing, or are there fresh concerns awaiting coach Kirby Smart as he and his team try to defend their title?
Georgia will expect a much more focused performance in this conference game.
Missouri Tigers
Missouri suffered one of the worst losses of Week 4, perhaps the worst in school history. It’s hard to overstate losing to Auburn last Saturday. Mizzou had the game in the bag so many times, it was (seemingly) impossible to lose it.
First, missing a 25-yard, chip-shot field goal at the end of regulation with the game tied, 14-14. Then, a penalty in overtime wiped out an interception and another chance to have the Tigers (theoretically) win with a field goal.
Then, trailing 17-14 after Auburn kicked a field goal, the Tigers seemingly scored the touchdown to win, but the Mizzou ball carrier, Nathaniel Peat, en route to the end zone, strangely held the ball out in front of him instead of keeping it tucked where it belonged.
It was knocked loose just before it reached the goal line. Auburn subsequently recovered the fumble in the end zone. Touchback. Game over. Missouri Tigers simply gave away the game. This team now has to turn the page, against the best team in the land.
