Group of Five Week 4 Props: Load Up on Friday Night Football Bets
The Group of Five will not be in the spotlight as much, with most conference play beginning in Week 4. Several teams are still worth watching, though. Tulane and Fresno State are two teams that could contend for New Year’s Six bids. Several of our prop bets on Tulane and Fresno State have hit online college football betting.
In Week 3, our picks flourished, going three for three. Let’s ride the hot streak for Week 4. Here are our top college football prop bets for the Group of Five this week.
FAU, U Of I Lack Scoring Power
Florida Atlantic (1-2) is one of the only Group of Five teams that will face a Power Five squad in Week 4. The Owls will visit Illinois (1-2), which have lost back-to-back games and are 0-3 against the spread (ATS).
Both offenses have struggled, ranking outside the top 100 in points per game. Both teams have failed to score in the first quarter in two of three games.
Florida Atlantic’s quarterback Casey Thompson suffered a season-ending knee injury last week. The Owls are 16th in passing attempts per game. Take away their starting signal-caller; that spells trouble.
Don’t expect much scoring in Florida Atlantic-Illinois. The first score occurring over the six-minute mark is among the best college football prop bets for Sept. 23.
College Football Pick: Florida Atlantic vs. Illinois – First Score Over Six Minutes (-105)

Prop Up on Air Force Run Game
Friday night’s slate features several intriguing college football odds. Air Force (3-0) has impressed early with an elite run game. The Falcons will square off with San Jose State (1-3).
Owen Burk is Air Force’s leading rusher at 222 yards. The Spartans rank 108th in allowed rushing yards per game. The Falcons lead the nation in rushing yards per game.
Our sportsbook has Burk’s rushing total at over/under 66.5 yards. The over is priced at -114. Let’s take it a step further. Burk is +108 to total at least 77 rushing yards. He is averaging 92.5 rushing yards over his previous two games.
College Football Pick: Owen Burk 77+ Rushing Yards (+108)

Mountain West Favorite Looks to Rebound
Our odds on college football games have Boise State (1-2) as 6½-point favorites against San Diego State (2-2). The Broncos’ record suggests a rough start, but they are 2-1 ATS. Plus, both losses came against Power Five opponents (UCF and Washington).
Boise State could begin to stack wins in conference play. According to college football lines, the Broncos remain the favorite to win the Mountain West (+240).
Quarterback Taylen Green has been up and down thus far. His passer rating has eclipsed 117 in back-to-back games. However, Green has four interceptions already. San Diego State’s defense could be a favorable matchup.
The Aztecs rank 121st in allowed passing yards per game. Green’s projected passing yards sit at 180.5. He has passed this total in two of three games. Against a weak secondary, take Green to go over 180.5 passing yards.
College Football Pick: Taylen Green Over 180.5 Passing Yards (-114)
