Kansas State vs Baylor Prediction, Game Preview, Live Stream, Odds & Picks
If the Baylor Bears have serious aspirations of winning the Big 12 Conference, then Saturday’s home game against the Kansas State Wildcats is a must-win.
The Bears, like the Wildcats and the Texas Longhorns, are 4-2 in the Big 12 and are looking up at the 6-0 TCU Horned Frogs, who travel to Waco next week.

Baylor still has a chance at catching TCU by winning three straight games behind the exploits of running backs Richard Reese and Craig Williams
Reese recorded back-to-back 100-yard games before Williams took center stage with 192 yards in last week’s win over the Oklahoma Sooners.
“We recognize where we’re at and what’s at stake,” head coach Dave Aranda, who has started his Baylor career with 20 wins in 32 games, told the media. “We have to keep the focus on what’s in front of us and what we have to do today.”
The Wildcats started 3-0 in the conference but have dropped two of three games since as the defense allowed 30-plus points to both TCU and Texas.
Chris Klieman’s team was gouged through the air against TCU and on the ground by Texas, and now faces one of the nation’s top rushing teams in Baylor.
Kansas State has outscored opponents 174-91 in the first half, the biggest margin in the Big 12, and getting out to an early lead could go a long way toward springing the upset.
“It’s going to be a game of possessions because they (Baylor) are going to hang on to the football,” Klieman told the media. “They are going to go for it on fourth down to try to keep it away from people. It’s going to be a big challenge.”
Let’s check the latest college football odds, stats, injury reports, and college football lines for Kansas State vs Baylor. We’ve plenty of NCAA football odds for you to consider.
Reese Ranks High Among Freshmen Backs
Reese, who missed last week’s game with the flu, is closing in on a school record of rushing yards by a freshman, needing 84 yards to pass Shock Linwood (881 yards).
The Texan is tied for fifth overall and tied for first among freshmen with 13 rushing touchdowns while his 798 yards is second among freshmen and 28th overall.
The passing attack, led by Blake Shapen, who has 13 touchdowns and six interceptions, isn’t anything to write home about as it averages just 216.8 yards per game. The Bears do have a pair of big-play threats in Gavin Holmes and Monaray Baldwin, the only teammates in the FBS to rank in the top 10 in yards per reception.
Holmes is eighth with 21.36 yards per catch while Baldwin is 10th at 20.75 yards.
Martinez Closing in on History
Adrian Martinez is back healthy after missing two games for Kansas State, but Kleiman has not announced who the starting quarterback will be between him and Will Howard.
Martinez, who played four seasons at Nebraska, is close to becoming the second player in FBS history to record 10,000 career passing yards and 3,000 career rushing yards.
The Californian needs 273 passing yards and 82 rushing yards to join Nevada’s Colin Kaepernick (10,098/4,112) as the only player to accomplish the feat.
Martinez threw for 329 yards and ran for 52 in last week’s loss to Texas, while Howard had 521 passing yards with six touchdowns and one interception in his two games.
